Weslaco High School Varsity Cheer proudly represented Weslaco at UCA Camp in Austin as a team built on leadership, dedication, and school pride.

As one of the team captains, it was an honor to help lead this group through an unforgettable few days of hard work, growth, and nonstop energy. From early mornings to late-night routines, every moment was an opportunity to improve, support one another, and push ourselves to the next level.

All of that effort showed in our results—bringing home the Leadership Award, 1st Place Cheer, and 1st Place Spirit Routine. These accomplishments reflect not just performance, but the heart, unity, and discipline this team carries every day.

More than anything, this experience was about representing Weslaco on a bigger stage and showing what our program stands for. Proud of this team, proud of our growth, and excited for everything ahead. 🤍📣

🦖🦷 Digging Up Healthy Smiles at the Mayor Joe V. Sanchez Public Library of Weslaco was a roaring success! Through my Beyond the Enamel initiative, I had the opportunity to teach children and families about the importance of oral health in a fun, engaging, and interactive way.

Beyond the Enamel is dedicated to promoting oral health education and showing that dental care goes far beyond simply having a bright smile. By encouraging healthy habits, preventive care, and greater awareness, the initiative aims to help individuals understand the connection between oral health and overall well-being.

From hands-on activities and dental health games to practicing proper brushing techniques, it was incredible to see so many young smiles excited to learn and participate. Seeing children engage with the lessons and leave with new knowledge made this event especially rewarding.

Thank you to the MJVS Library, the families who attended, and everyone who helped make this event a success. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing the mission of Beyond the Enamel and making a positive impact in our community.

Together, we’re building healthier habits, brighter smiles, and a stronger future—one smile at a time. 💚✨

Honored to attend the ribbon cutting of the new Cavender’s in Weslaco and celebrate the continued growth of local businesses in our community. Although I wasn’t able to arrive on time due to my commitment at a Teen Court program, I still made it a priority to stop by afterward to support, explore, and recognize the impact this new store brings to our city.

It’s always inspiring to see well-established businesses choose Weslaco as a place to grow, invest, and serve our community. Cavender’s not only adds convenience and variety for local families, but also strengthens our local economy and brings new energy and opportunities to the area.

Events like this reflect the momentum happening in Weslaco—where progress, community pride, and investment are continuing to shape a stronger future. Even arriving after the ceremony, it was meaningful to witness the excitement, meet members of the team, and see firsthand the quality and care behind the new location.

Grateful to support and highlight businesses that believe in Weslaco and contribute to its continued growth and success.

The addition of specialized liver care here in our region brings life-changing opportunities for prevention, early detection, and treatment, allowing patients to receive high-quality care closer to home. This kind of investment in local healthcare strengthens not only individual lives, but the wellbeing of our entire community.

On Friday, I attended the City of Weslaco - Government groundbreaking ceremony for Isaac D. Rodriguez Park and its upcoming improvements, including a new pickleball court. 🌳🌳

It’s great to see continued investment in local parks and recreational spaces that will serve families, students, and residents across the community. As someone who enjoys pickleball, I’m especially looking forward to having more accessible places to play here in Weslaco.

On Thursday, I had the opportunity to attend South Texas Federal Credit Union’s celebration marking one year of their Weslaco Pride debit card program. These special cards, featuring the mascots of Weslaco High School and Weslaco East High School, are a great way to showcase the pride and traditions that make our community so special.

It was wonderful to join community members, school representatives, and local leaders in celebrating a program that highlights the strong connection between our schools and local businesses. Seeing organizations invest in and support our students and schools is always inspiring.

Join us for a roaring good time as we travel back to the age of dinosaurs for a fun, hands-on dental adventure! Kids will become Dino Smile Explorers as they learn how to take care of their teeth through games, crafts, and interactive activities designed to make oral health fun and memorable.

From building their own dinosaur tooth to helping create a giant healthy smile, this event is all about learning, teamwork, and creativity in the most dino-mite way! 🦖💚

This event is perfect for young explorers and is designed to help children understand the importance of brushing, flossing, and making healthy choices — all while having fun!

• Hands-on dinosaur tooth craft
• Interactive dental health lesson
• Fun games & challenges
• Giant group smile project

Today I had the chance to attend the groundbreaking for the new El Pollo Loco here in Weslaco, and it was such an exciting moment to witness for our community. 🐓

What stood out to me the most was seeing yet another business choose Weslaco as a place to invest and grow. It really says something about the direction our city is headed—development is not just happening, it’s actively choosing us. That kind of confidence from companies shows that Weslaco is becoming a place full of opportunity and momentum.

Every new project like this adds another layer to our city’s growth. It means more convenience for families, more jobs for our community, and more spaces that continue to bring people together. It’s amazing to see how much Weslaco is expanding while still holding onto its strong sense of community and pride.

I’m grateful to represent Miss Weslaco and to be able to experience these moments of progress firsthand. Today was a reminder that our city is on the rise, and it’s exciting to see new development becoming part of Weslaco’s future.

Yesterday I had the honor of attending the groundbreaking ceremony at Weslaco’s Mayor Pablo Peña Park as the community gathered to celebrate the upcoming updates and improvements to this meaningful space. 🌳🤍

It was especially touching to be there alongside Mayor Pablo Peña’s family, as well as city leaders and community members, to reflect on his legacy and the impact he continues to have on our city. The ceremony served as a reminder of how deeply one person’s dedication to public service can shape and inspire a community for years to come.

As we broke ground on this new chapter, it felt like more than just a construction milestone—it was a moment of honoring the past while investing in the future. Parks like this are where families gather, kids grow up, and memories are made, and it’s exciting to see continued efforts to make these spaces even better for everyone.

I’m grateful to represent Miss Weslaco and to witness moments like this that highlight both progress and unity in our community. Looking forward to seeing the transformation and everything this updated park will bring to the people of Weslaco!!

Day 1 of Quest Nature Camp for ages 5–6 was a success! 🌿✨

Today, I had the opportunity to volunteer through NHS and help with a camp filled with learning, exploration, and fun. It was amazing to see so many young campers excited to discover nature and ask questions about the world around them.

I’m grateful for organizations like the Valley Nature Center that provide meaningful opportunities for our youth to learn, grow, and connect with nature. Experiences like these help inspire curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. 💚🌎
