Hidalgo County Active Transportation & Active Tourism Plan

We’re proud to share the Hidalgo County Active Transportation & Active Tourism Plan. A roadmap designed to make our communities more connected, accessible, and enjoyable for residents and visitors.

The plan identifies opportunities to improve walking, biking, trails, and connections to local destinations, while supporting tourism, economic development, and healthier communities.

This resource provides a vision for continued investment in a more connected and active Hidalgo County.

The LRGVDC expresses its sincere gratitude to Hidalgo County for providing the funding to create this plan for it 22 cities and for allows us to lead this effort in planning and coordination with the consultant that was selected to complete the plan.

We are pleased to announce the 2026 Aliceann Wohlbruck NADO Impact Award recipients! These awards celebrate projects and partnerships that are strengthening communities through regional planning, economic growth, infrastructure investment, workforce advancement, resilience initiatives, and more.
