The City of Weslaco was proud to be represented in Washington, D.C. as part of a legislative advocacy effort focused on advancing critical projects that will strengthen our community, improve infrastructure, and support Weslaco’s continued growth.
Weslaco Mayor Adrian Gonzalez, Weslaco Commissioner Josh Pedraza, and Assistant City Manager Antonio Lopez met with federal partners and participated in discussions centered on key priorities for our city, including drainage improvements, transportation planning, economic development, workforce development, and long-term resiliency.
Projects presented for federal funding consideration included:
• City of Weslaco Plaza Street Drainage Improvements — Design & Construction — $11,906,682.24
• City of Weslaco Agostadero Drainage Project — Scoping Only — $1,078,200.00
• City of Weslaco Agostadero Drainage Project — Design & Construction — $13,105,055.00
• Paisano Drainage Project — Scoping Only — $704,300.00
• Weslaco Vo-Tech Pike Roundabout Project — Construction Only — $5,425,874.80
• Weslaco Transportation Master Plan — $250,000.00
• Weslaco Mid-Valley Industrial Park Planning Project — $600,000.00
Combined, these projects represent a total potential investment of $33,070,112.04 in critical infrastructure, drainage, transportation, planning, and economic development priorities for the City of Weslaco.
