A quick nightly habit can help reduce your chances of becoming a victim of theft or other crimes.

Each night at 9 p.m., take a few minutes to:
Lock your vehicles
Remove keys and valuables
Lock exterior doors
Close garage doors
Turn on exterior lights

Many vehicle break-ins and thefts occur because criminals find easy opportunities, especially unlocked vehicles and open garages.

A simple check before bed can make a big difference.

Stay alert. Stay safe. Make the part of your nightly routine.

This morning, Wednesday, Jun 10 Major Burton, Captain Pyatt, Lieutenant Bell, Sergeant Davis and Sergeant Schmidt attended the "A Salute to Our Flag" ceremony at the WREC.

The ceremony was hosted by the Caroline Close Stuart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the ceremony honored the American flag and the principles of freedom, service and patriotism that it represents.

It was a beautiful morning to gather with members of our community and reflect on the enduring significance of our nation's flag and the values that unite us.

Thank you to the Caroline Close Stuart Chapter for the invitation and for hosting this meaningful event.

Have a great week and be safe.

Get a heads-up on helmet safety!

Wearing a helmet can help protect your child or teen from serious brain or head injury. Whether they’re riding a bike, scooter, e-Bike or other motorized device, a helmet is their first line of defense against the unpredictable.

When looking for a helmet, use the tips below to ensure proper fit, safety and usage!

A helmet should have a snug fit on your child’s head. The side straps should make a “V” shape behind and slightly in front of the rider’s ears.

Keep the date of manufacture handy in case the helmet is recalled.

Replace any bike helmet that has been involved in a crash. Damage to a helmet might not show up externally.

Stay safe, Wentzville!
