On this Labor Day, we pause to honor the contributions, hard work and dedication of workers across this country.

From farmers to foremen and doctors to store clerks, we acknowledge the tremendous accomplishments of our workforce - of all ages and professions, and the challenges workers have overcome in the last century.

We also thank our dedicated staff, across all of our operating departments: Administration, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Parks & Recreation, Planning, Police and Public Works. We can't serve the public without you.

Our offices are closed today to give our staff time off. Trash pickup is delayed one day this week. We will reopen for business tomorrow (Tuesday).

⚠️ Impacted by the storms this weekend? Got a lot of debris lying around? The Town is here to help!

On Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10, our Public Works crews will stop by and pick up any storm debris placed at the curb.

Must be within town limits and you must have your debris out NO LATER than 7 AM on Thursday or you may miss collection.

Regular GFL waste collection will proceed on a one-day delay due to the holiday on Monday. Folks are encouraged to still use their yard waste cans as well.

♻️ Wednesday GFL pickup will be Thursday

Power is mostly restored but signals need to be calibrated.

Continue to take caution at signalized intersections until this occurs.

Please be extremely cautious driving in Wendell this evening. Traffic signals are without power along Wendell Falls Parkway.

Treat signalized intersections with no power like four way stops.

Please keep an eye out for any downed trees or debris in roadways.

⚠️ All Town of Wendell offices will be closed this Monday, September 7, in recognition of the Labor Day holiday.

♻️ All trash pickup will be DELAYED by one day the week of Labor Day.
• Monday pickup will be Tuesday
• Tuesday pickup will be Wednesday
• Wednesday pickup will be Thursday

Give GFL's Customer Service Hotline a call at (919) 394-8801 with any trash pickup questions.

Park spaces remain open as usual. Raleigh Water bills can be paid online at raleighnc.gov/water. We will reopen for business on Tuesday, September 8. Have a safe and restful holiday weekend!
