Visit us for four floors of stories, games, history, and art - plus big views of the Columbia River. Our helpful guides will answer your questions, and short movies in three theaters will round out the stories that unfold as you move through the center's exhibits. Get hands-on at the Discovery Center year-round every Tues-Sun from 9:30am-5pm for FREE. The Discovery Center also houses the Rocky Reach Café, serving breakfast, lunch and fresh-baked goodies for purchase.

🏹 From geology to ingenuity. Last month, explored the rocks that shaped our region. This month, we’re looking at another part of the story: how Native peoples understood and worked with stone. Our first spotlight features projectile points from the Rocky Reach collection.
Different types of stone were carefully selected for their unique working properties, then shaped into tools used for hunting and everyday life. Together, these pieces offer a glimpse into the knowledge, skill and craftsmanship carried through generations.
Follow along this month as we share more from our Native American collection and join us Sept. 19 as we celebrate “We Are River People” during the Wenatchee River Salmon Festival at Rocky Reach.

This week's feature is Fused Basalt.
Its glassy surface suggests it was exposed to intense heat or electrical energy. A handwritten note that accompanied the specimen mentions high voltage, but exactly how it formed remains part of its mystery.
Next month, we'll shift from the geology that shaped the Columbia River to the people who have called it home for thousands of years as explores Native American artifacts.
