Wenatchee School District is made of six elementary schools, three middle schools, one comprehensive high school, one alternative high school, a K-10 alternative parent partnership school, and a technical skills center that serves our district and others. We are 700 exceptional educators, including full- and part-time certified and classified employees, who take pride in serving the more than 6,800 students who attend WSD schools. Together, our students, teachers, staff, and leadership represent the diversity and richness of Wenatchee, as well as the challenges facing our community. What We Do
We teach, support, and challenge students to excel through high-quality instruction and social-emotional learning. Our goal is to build a foundation of diversity, equity, and inclusion from which all students emerge future-ready. To do this, we have set our “Big 6” Student Outcomes, as well as priorities and action steps to help us get there. Action steps include hiring staff that reflects the diversity of our student body, building the skills and knowledge of our staff through continued professional development, and eliminating systemic barriers for every student. We are also partnering with local business owners to give students career-connected learning opportunities. Many of these initiatives are underway and creating positive change. We are committed to driving progress forward by continuing what’s working, changing what isn’t, and sharing our work with the Wenatchee community. Why It Matters
Students come to our schools with different lived experiences, starting points, and needs. Today, too many of them are not meeting grade-level standards or feeling prepared to seize the opportunities available to them upon graduation. We believe every student has limitless potential and deserves an education that will help them reach their academic and career goals—whatever they may be. That’s why we’re working hard to make WSD a place every student knows they belong and has what they need to succeed.

BOND FAQ FRIDAY - The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority is projecting $3 billion in new development in the Wenatchee and Malaga area over the next eight years and that is very good news for local taxpayers.

Here is why it matters for the proposed bond.

Think of the local tax base like a pie. Every property owner has a slice. As new businesses and development are added to that pie, it gets bigger, and every individual slice gets smaller.

Microsoft is already building six data centers in Malaga, projected to contribute over $1.4 million annually to our local tax base starting next year. Add $3 billion in broader regional development, and there are a lot more people sharing the cost.

Same bond amount. Bigger tax base. Lower rate for taxpayers over time.

The proposed bond rate is estimated at $1.46 per $1,000 of assessed value and is expected to decrease as our tax base grows.

Wenatchee voters will consider the $275 million bond measure on November 3, 2026.

Wenatchee High School students are leading the way with the WHS food waste compost program. They’re creating habits that reduce waste and support sustainability among their 1,900 fellow Panthers.

Back to school means back to the lunchroom!

Our latest video, “Lunchroom Leaders,” explores how schools can reduce food waste and keep organic materials out of the landfill. From sorting systems to student engagement, schools have an important role to play in building sustainable habits.

The video features Wenatchee High School, Pinnacles Prep, and Peshastin-Dryden Elementary—schools helping lead the way in sustainability here in our region. 🌱♻️

Today Kim Schrier had the opportunity to visit our hard working WHS Student Energy Managers and learn more about their amazing efforts to help local and state building owners meet clean energy standards and avoid costly fines.

This afternoon, Wenatchee High School students gave me a fantastic presentation on their participation in the Advanced Energy Management Program with Chelan County PUD. Thank you for your work this summer!

The November 3 Bond: A Community-Informed Plan

The proposed Wenatchee bond was developed through years of study and community input.

The district’s Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee spent 15 months reviewing building conditions, construction costs, educational needs, and long-term facility plans. The committee included parents, staff, students, community members, and local leaders.

After considering different options, the committee recommended focusing the bond on two priorities: replacing most of Wenatchee High School and upgrading aging HVAC systems at seven schools across the district.
