Our thoughts and prayers are with the Goldsby Fire department and the family of the two fallen firefighters. We ask that everyone keep them in your thoughts and prayers. We unfortunately know all to well how it feels to loose a fellow firefighter.

We are currently on a grass fire in the area of Hwy 102 and Whispering Oaks Rd. The fire is contained at this time as we work to put out hot spots and mop up. We have a lot of units in the area working on this along with us including Jacktown, Wellston, Luther, and Fallis Fd.

Over night tonight we are going to experience extreme fire danger. A dry line is going to push into our area about 1 am with high winds. The humidity is going to drop to 10-15% with 30-40 mph winds or higher. Please be prepared if a wild fire breaks out to evacuate if requested. We don’t do this for anything other than the public’s safety. These are very dagerous situations and quickly escalating incidents.

Your firefighters along with Wellston and Jacktown fire departments spent the over night hours until daylight working to put out grass fires. The quick actions of all of these departments over night saved multiple structures in the area of 980 and 3340 rd on a quick and rapid spreaing grass fire. Please be cautious tonight and have a plan in place if need be. All of your Lincoln County Fire Departments are extremely tired but be assured we stand ready to respond if need be.

We are aware of the post going around late on a page on Facebook of a fire at Hwy 62/102. There was a fire in that area approximately 1 pm today. We have extinguished the fire and all of units are back in service.

The incident earlier was two abandoned structure that had been used years ago for the old Kickapoo Casino. The fire was on Indian land and not a personal property to clear up any confusion on any other pages.

Since receiving our new tanker at the middle of last year it has been on several incidents and provided a vital role for our department. Here are some photos of it in action through out the year. This apparatus has made every fire incident and provided vital water refill for brush pumpers along with structure protection. If you’re looking to add a tanker to your fleet don’t hesitate to give this company your business.

We are aware of the large control burn in the area of 980 and 3330 rd. We have spoken to the land owner and he has personnel and equipment on scene. Your firefighters have been extremely busy this morning responding to several smoke investigations and medical calls. Since 9 am we have responded to 7 incidents, as we are sure residents in the area have been hearing lots of sirens. Please be mindful today with anything that can ignite a fire, not only today but into next week as well.
