Solar Farms. Where does it go from here.

At this point the planning commission approved the zoning amendment. It now goes to the board to approve or deny. If approved the public could petition to bring it to a vote of all registered voters in Norman Township which, if approved, would reverse the decision. If the zoning amendment is approved by the Township then anyone in a residential/agricultural zoning could apply to the Township to build up to, a community size solar farm under the special use allowance. The Township could approve or deny however if an applicant met all requirements and conditions of the zoning ordinance under the special use, there might not be a legal way for them to deny. No attorney here but look at it like if it's allowed what basis would there be for a denial, not wanting it does not seem valid enough.
This is how the whole data center stuff started, with a zoning amendment and deep pocketed corporations funding.
Does this use provide any community benefit or just meet the needs of consumers requirement for sustainable energy? Will consumers cut you a break on your electrical bill? While sustainable energy can be debated both for and against, we live in the NATIONAL FOREST and many do not take preservation of this land lightly. What's next, fracking, mining, pipelines etc. Food for thought.
