Our rescheduled and anticipated Brooke DSA Gun Bash is scheduled for this Saturday, March 7th, 2026 at the Wellsburg Banquet Hall. Doors open at 2 and the raffle begins at 3! Tickets are still available, but if you already purchased your ticket, it will still be good for entry. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

NWS Weather update:

1. Not much has changed on snow amounts. NWS PITT still has Brooke County averaging around 13.7 inches.

2. Start of the snow has moved later and is projected to start sometime between 11pm Saturday night and 1am Sunday morning.

3. Snowfall will be finished between 9am-11am Monday morning.

4. Highest snowfall rates are expected Sunday 10am until 7pm. Roads likely to be impassible during this time.

Due to unforseen circumstances, tomorrow's Gun Bash for the Brooke County Deputy Sheriffs Association at the Wellsburg Banquet Hall has been postponed to March 7th, 2026. An all call was made on Wednesday night but it appears that some did not get the call. Your ticket will still be honored in March, so please keep your ticket stub. Sorry for the late notice and inconvenience. The deputies appreciate your continued support. Thank you!!

K9 Duke is the proud new recipient of the Hot-n-Pop system for Sgt. Siranovic’s cruiser. This was received by the Brooke County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit from the . The monetary donation for the system was made by the Bovenizer Family at .

The Hot-n-Pop system is life-saving canine equipment. The system monitors vital components including temperature sensors and vehicle battery voltage.

Under alarm conditions, the unit activates an S.O.S horn honk signal, siren, light-bar activation, and dual window drop to immediately equalize the internal temperature of the vehicle. Please, if you ever see a K9 cruiser in such mode dial 911 immediately and advise dispatch.

We can’t thank the Bovenizer Family and the Capital K9 Association enough for the donation. K9 Duke, his handler Sgt. Siranovic, and the Brooke County Sheriff’s Office are very appreciative for their efforts.

On Friday, April 12th, 2024, Bogeys Cafe near the Pennsylvania state line on Washington Pike was broken into around 4 AM. These are some of the stills from the video surveillance. The vehicle left the area towards Pennsylvania. If any one has any information to the individuals or the vehicle involved, please contact us at (304) 737-3660 or you can message our FB page. *****Press Release*****

On November 30, 2023 the Brooke County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Glass Lane, Wellsburg WV at 1227. Deputies quickly responded to the scene. The property owner was able to detain one of the suspects, a female, but the male fled into the woods. Sgt. Siranovic quickly deployed his K9 partner, Duke, to track the suspect. Duke was able to pick up the scent from the suspect and off they went. Sgt. Siranovic and Duke tracked the suspect for approximately 3/4 mile into the woods where the suspect was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing and this suspect is potentially linked to other serious crimes such as malicious wounding, brandishing a deadly weapon and kidnapping.

SCAM ALERT

It has been brought to our attention by several callers tonight that there are phone calls being made to Brooke County residents by alleged Brooke County Deputy Sheriffs Latimer and Douglas telling people that they missed their court dates and are taking money over the phone. We do not have deputies by those names here. We do not call people and ask them for money either. If you have any questions, please contact our office but please do not give any money over the phone to anyone. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas.
