🚨 Behind-the-Scenes Spotlight🚨
Our Chamber is powered by people who care deeply about Wellington, and today we’re shining a spotlight on Board Member, Jesse Giefer!
Born and raised on a family farm, Jesse has called Wellington home his entire life, aside from his time at Emporia State University. Today, he and his wife, Kristin, are raising their four children, Skyler, Kylee, C**t, and Crue, right here in the community he loves.
Jesse has been a Chamber member for about seven years and has served on the Board for the past four. He joined the Board because he wanted to become more involved in the community and better understand everything the Chamber does behind the scenes.
And speaking of behind the scenes… that’s actually Jesse’s favorite part of serving on the Board.
“There is a lot that goes on that if you weren't on the Board you wouldn't realize. The Chamber does way more than people know!”
Outside of the Chamber, Jesse stays busy as a Farm Bureau Financial Services insurance agent and, of course, being a husband and dad of four. Between family, sports, friends, and a busy schedule, there’s never a dull moment!
What does Jesse love most about Wellington? The way our community rallies together when someone is in need. He loves the small-town feel, the tight-knit and welcoming atmosphere, and knowing that people here have each other’s backs.
His favorite local tradition? The Kansas Wheat Festival, of course!
Jesse believes strongly in supporting local businesses because strong businesses create jobs, attract people, and help our community grow. He also hopes to continue seeing investment in our schools and facilities, recognizing that a strong school district is an important part of sustaining a strong small town.
One local business Jesse thinks everyone should check out? Fly Over State Brewery! As a newer business in our community, he believes they deserve our support as they work to grow and succeed.
After four years on the Board, Jesse says one of the biggest things he has learned is just how instrumental the Chamber is to our community.
And if he had to describe Wellington in one word? PEACEFUL.
We’re grateful for Jesse’s time, perspective, and commitment to serving Wellington. Thank you, Jesse, for being one of the people working behind the scenes to make our community stronger!
