It's time to clean up Fairview Cemetery! The dumpster has been delivered. We will only have it for about 10 days so please get your winter decor, and old, faded or broken items picked up and deposited into the dumpster. Thank you for helping to keep the cemetery looking nice!

The township clerk will be at the township hall from 8 am -4 pm tomorrow (Saturday, May 2nd) to register any township residents, who live in the Chippewa Hills School District, to vote in the May 5th election. Bring ID and a piece of official mail (utility bill, paycheck stub, lease/mortgage, etc. that has your name and address on it. Junk mail does not count as "official mail".) Absentee ballot applications will also be available.

The May 5th election (for Chippewa Hills School District voters only) is just two weeks away! If you have an absentee ballot at home it's time to get it voted and dropped in the mail or placed in the Dropbox at the township hall. The Isabella Conservation District is offering a Septic System Drainfield Cost Share Program for eligible landowners. Please see the Announcement section of the township website (nottawatwpisabellami.gov) for more information or contact the ICD at 989-772-5927.

Nottawa Township voters who live in the Chippewa Hills School District will have an election on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. If you are on the permanent ballot list, your ballot has been mailed out.

This is a consolidated election, meaning several townships have been consolidated into one in-person voting site for the May 5th election. All Nottawa Township voters who wish to vote in person on May 5th will do so at the Sheman Township Hall at 3550 N. Rolland Rd., Weidman, MI 48893. You will receive a postcard or letter from the Mecosta County Clerk regarding your voting location for this election.

If you need an absentee ballot, please contact the Nottawa Township Clerk or apply online at www.mvic.sos.state.mi.us/AVApplication/Index. You can also print a physical application from the township website at nottawatwpisabellami.gov, click government, click elections and scroll down to "print absentee ballot application here".

The Nottawa Township Board of Review will meet at the township hall on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm and Wednesday, March 11 from 3 pm to 9 pm. Protest forms are due to the assessors office by March 9th. If you haven't received your assessment notice please reach out to the assessor - Denise Hall, 989-644-3413 or [email protected].

Monday, March 2, 2026, is the last day residents can pay their 2025 Summer or Winter taxes to the Township Treasurer. The treasurer will be at the township hall from 9 am to 5 pm to accept payments. Do not drop tax payments in the mail. Postmarks do not count - the payment must be received by the treasurer by 5 pm on Monday. Beginning Tuesday, March 3, 2026, all payments must be made to the Isabella County Treasurer. The treasurer can be reached at 989-444-8786 with questions.

The last day to pay winter property taxes without interest or penalties is Tuesday, February 17, 2026. The treasurer will have the following office hours at the Nottawa Township Hall (3024 W. Weidman Rd - corner of Winn Rd. and Weidman Rd.) for in person payment:

Friday, February 13th - noon to 5 pm
Monday, February 16th - 10 am to 6 pm
Tuesday, February 17th - 9 am to 6 pm

The Isabella County Drain Commissioner has scheduled a public hearing and a court hearing regarding the lake level order for the Weidman Mill Pond. The public hearing is scheduled for Friday, January 23, 2026, at 3:30 pm at the Commission on Aging (2200 S. Lincoln Rd, Mt. Pleasant MI 48858) and the court hearing is scheduled for Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Isabella County Circuit Court (300 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858). If you live in the Weidman Mill Pond special assessment area you will receive documents via mail regarding this issue. The documents can also be found on the township website at nottawatwpisabellami.gov - scroll down to the announcement section.

There is a large limb down in Fairview Cemetery. It's laying across the interior cemetery road that runs along the north fence. Please avoid that area and do not attempt to drive over it. We will get it moved as soon as possible.

The Township Treasurer now has her office at the township hall. If you want to pay your taxes in person her December office hours are pictured below. There is a drop box just below that sign if you want to drop off a tax payment. The township hall is at the corner of Winn Rd and Weidman Rd.
