âś‚ The ribbon has been officially cut to celebrate the improvements made to one of our favorite trails in Webster!

We want to thank everyone who joined us to commemorate the recent updates along the Hojack Trail. Webster Parks and Recreation, Webster NY, along with the Friends of Webster Trails, hosted a brief ceremony to introduce these enhancements and honor the trail’s history.

The Hojack Trail is a revitalized section of the former Hojack Railroad tracks. It stretches from Lake Road in the northwest corner of the Town of Webster to Phillips Road in the southeast, providing a pathway that connects multiple other trails and parks along the route. Friends of Webster Trails is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1997, and was inspired by this trail, which remains a cherished pathway for residents and visitors. Recent improvements, including trail resurfacing and the installation of new signage, benches, and plantings, were made possible through funding from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation and a generous anonymous donor.

Come and check it out for yourself!

Reminder that tomorrow, September 4, is the “America United: The Days After 9/11” exhibit at the Webster Recreation Center, 1350 Chiyoda Drive. Stop in between 10:00am and 2:00pm for an exhibit presented by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and hosted by Webster Parks and Recreation, Webster NY. This is an opportunity to honor the lives lost on that tragic day and to celebrate how our nation united in the days that followed. The powerful display features an incredible piece of twisted beams from the World Trade Center wreckage.

The exhibit commemorates 25 years since the September 11 attacks, and is open to all ages and includes elements specifically designed for children to explore themes of tragedy, gratitude, and what it means to be an American.

⚠ Don’t get caught up in this scam in Webster!

Webster residents and businesses seeking approvals from the Planning Board or Zoning Board of Appeals should be aware of a common scam.

Some applicants with projects under review have received emails from accounts impersonating current members of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. Please note that these boards will never request payment via email, text message, wire transfer, gift card, cryptocurrency, or any other electronic method. Any such request is fraudulent.

While we are not aware of successful attempts to collect money in the Town of Webster, we want to protect residents and business owners from potential financial harm. If you receive a communication requesting payment outside of the Town’s established procedures, do not respond or forward it. A common tactic scammers use is creating fake accounts using a board member’s name. Contact the Town's Department of Community Development by phone at 585-872-7028 or email [email protected] to verify.

Stay safe!

🚍 Happy first day of school, Webster!

The Webster Police Department has important reminders for drivers as children return this school year. Keeping our students safe is our priority, so please stay vigilant behind the wheel.

âś… Obey school zone speed limits and follow school drop-off procedure.

âś… Make eye contact with children crossing the street.

âś… Never pass a bus when it is loading or unloading children.

âś… The area 10 feet around a school bus is the most dangerous for children; stop far enough back to allow them to enter and exit the bus safely.

We wish you all a happy and healthy school year!
