TONIGHT: The Red and Black Brass Band is performing at the Juneteenth Concert in the Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The free concert will take place at Ivory Crockett Park at the corner of Almentor and Bell in Webster Groves.

A beloved musical force in St. Louis, the Red and Black Brass Band is an ensemble known for a vibrant mix of jazz and soul in the New Orleans second-line tradition.

Kids activities include: face painting, balloon animals, bubble machines, and an inflatable bounce house. Webster Groves Police and Fire will have personnel and vehicles on site.

Electric bikes and scooters are becoming more popular, so it’s important to understand how to ride safely and responsibly.

Remember, e-bikes and e-scooters share the road with cars and follow the same traffic laws. Stop at intersections, look both ways, use hand signals, and stay alert for pedestrians and vehicles.

Adjust your speed to match your surroundings. Use lights and reflective gear when riding at night.

Always wear a helmet. It’s one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent injuries.

Parents: Talk with your children about safe riding habits and make sure they understand the rules of the road before heading out.

If you’re driving, be aware that e-bikes and e-scooters may be traveling faster than you expect. Take extra care when turning and entering intersections.

Sergeant Jason Flanery represented the department and Missouri Law Enforcement in Wichita, Kansas this weekend for the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The celebration, which included officers from the six states in our region, recognized the founding members of the Torch Run. This small run that started as six officers of the Wichita Police Department and the Special Olympics Kansas CEO has now spread around the world with law enforcement raising over $1 billion dollars for Special Olympics.

On Sunday, the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg came to Wichita in honor of the 45th anniversary as the Torch makes its way around the country to start the Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota on June 20th. Sergeant Flanery got to run with the Final Leg Team as they carried the Torch through Wichita to raise awareness of inclusion and acceptance, and to show support for all the athletes.

On May 29, 2026, the Maplewood Police Department responded to multiple vehicle burglaries in the Ward 2 area of the city, including Bellevue, Bruno, Alameda, Lyndover, and Yale. The incidents occurred between approximately 2:50 a.m. and 3:15 a.m.

City of Maplewood Public Safety Cameras, along with Flock Safety cameras, helped identify a suspect vehicle linked to these incidents. The vehicle had previously been reported stolen from another jurisdiction and has been linked to multiple crimes throughout the region. It was occupied by at least four individuals, one of whom was observed to be armed with a firearm.

Residents are strongly reminded not to leave any valuables in their vehicles.

For your safety:
• Do not confront individuals suspected of committing vehicle burglaries.
• If you observe suspicious activity or a vehicle burglary in progress, call 911 immediately.

Detectives are actively working with surrounding jurisdictions to identify the individuals involved. Anyone with additional information or relevant video footage is encouraged to contact the Maplewood Police Department Detective Bureau at 314-646-3617.

The Webster Groves Police Department participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) to raise awareness for Special Olympics Missouri.

Launched in Wichita, Kansas in 1981, the Torch Run is an international movement with involvement from thousands of law enforcement personnel.

Webster Groves and Shrewsbury teamed up for their portion of the event on Thursday, May 28.

Officers carried the torch from Watson Road up to the Deer Creek Shopping Center on North Laclede Station Road, passing the flame onto Maplewood.

By the end of run, the torch had traveled 25 miles across 13 communities from St. Louis City to Overland.

A few of our officers had the opportunity to attend and participate in the Jeff Ottenad Memorial Torch Run for Special Olympics Missouri.

This event is always a great reminder of the strong partnership between law enforcement and Special Olympics athletes across our state. We are proud to support such an incredible organization and the athletes who continue to inspire all of us with their determination, courage, and positivity.

🎓 Today we’re celebrating Academic Excellence at the Webster Groves Police Department!

Our core values are Excellence, Teamwork, and Mentorship, and today Sergeant Cam McCullough showed exactly what Excellence looks like. Cam walked across the stage at Webster University and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree! 👏

What makes this accomplishment even more impressive? He achieved it while serving full-time as a Webster Groves Sergeant of Police and raising a family. That kind of dedication, discipline, and perseverance is no small feat.

We are incredibly proud to have Sergeant McCullough on our team and grateful for the example he sets every day.

Today, the Webster Groves Police and Fire Departments had the honor of visiting Hixson Middle School to celebrate “Tip of the Hat!” 🎩👏

Twenty-two outstanding students were recognized for demonstrating Hixson’s core values of Positive Relationships, Respect, and Teamwork. Once we heard about these incredible kids, we knew we had to join the celebration, so we brought pizza and surprised each student with TWO tickets to a St. Louis Cardinals game! ⚾🍕

We had an awesome time hanging out with these future leaders and seeing firsthand the positive impact they’re making in their school community. Keep up the great work, students, because your future is bright! 💙🚓🚒
