‼Tyson and his bright, smiling face are here to let you know that our pet food adoption special is back today-next Saturday! That's June 13th-June 20th.‼

Bring at least a 15lbs bag of dry dog or cat food for our pet food pantry (we are really low on cat food for the pantry!) and we will waive your adoption fee.

Let’s keep Parker County family pets fed and send shelter pets home!

Whisker Wednesday Update!

‼ The next Whisker Wednesday will be on JULY 1st instead of June 24th ‼

Residents of Parker County in shelter service areas can bring cats in a LIVE TRAP (not cat carrier!) to the shelter for 8:30am drop off. Pick-up times will be assigned at drop off. Services provided include:
-Spay/Neuter
-FVRCP Vaccine
-Rabies Vaccine
-Flea Treatment
- B Complex shot for immune support

Let's do our best to prevent feral cat overpopulation this summer!

Did you know June is Dog Bite Prevention Month?

Most dog bites occur simply as a misunderstanding between dogs and humans. Being able to read dog body language is critical to preventing bites! Take a look at this graphic on body language cues to be mindful of as well as the tips below:

- Never let children climb on or pull-on dogs

- Don't hug or kiss dogs; they don't know what it means!

- If you have to break up a dog fight NEVER stick your hand in the middle to pull them apart. Use a water hose, a loud noise like compressed air or squeaker, or a slip lead to get the dogs apart.

- Make sure your dog sees the vet regularly. A dog in pain is more likely to become irritable.

- Respect the growl. Dogs are allowed to say "actually, I don't like that". When you punish a growl, you make a dog liable to jump immediately to a bite without warning!
