🐾 Lost your pet? Here's what to do: 🐾
1️⃣ Check our Active Dashboard & Stray Map 🗺️
View the current list of animals at the shelter on our Shelter Dashboard: https://gis.weatherfordtx.gov/animalshelter. You can also check the Stray Animal Map, which shows where animals currently at the shelter were found.
2️⃣ Contact us & come to the shelter 🐶🐱
Call us at 817-598-4111, and our staff will do their best to check for your pet. However, because you know your pet best and animals are continually arriving at the shelter, coming in person is always recommended. By law, stray animals must be held for 72 hours, so your pet may be here waiting to be reunited with you!
📍 Shelter Hours:
Tuesday–Friday: 11 AM–6 PM
Saturday: 11 AM–4 PM
If you don’t find your pet, email a photo to [email protected] along with identifying details, where your pet was last seen, and your contact information.
3️⃣ Spread the word! 📱
Post your missing pet on social media, put up flyers around the area where they went missing and at local veterinary clinics, and use lost-and-found pet websites. We recommend Petco Love Lost, a free national database that uses image-recognition technology to help match lost and found pets.
4️⃣ Check your pet’s microchip information ❤️
If your pet is microchipped, contact the microchip company to make sure your contact information is up to date.
Need to get your pet microchipped? We offer microchipping for just $20 per animal! Call us to schedule an appointment. Additionally, most veterinary clinics offer microchipping services.
