Parker County ESD No. 6 Spring Creek

Parker County ESD No. 6 Spring Creek We are an entity of the Emergency Services District (ESD) No. 6 in southern Parker County. ESD meetings are on the first Wednesday of every month.

We have three stations in our district - one eastern station, one central station, and one western station. An ESD can place a property tax on the residents that live within the district, and this money then goes towards the fire departments with in the district. This money helps to purchase new apparatus, maintain those apparatus, build new fire stations, and purchase new firefighting equipment.

We are looking for employees that are willing to show up with a good attitude and willingness to learn. This place is a good opportunity to help further your career as a firefighter by being able to work with full-time firefighters. Getting the best of the best training! Chief: George Teague

Over the weekend, firefighters from all three shifts of Parker County ESD 6 had the opportunity to participate in acquired structure training hosted by the Frontier F.O.O.L.S.

During this valuable training, our firefighters sharpened critical skills in firefighter rescue and vertical ventilation—essential techniques that can make a difference when seconds count on the fireground. Training in realistic, hands-on environments allows our personnel to build confidence, improve teamwork, and enhance their ability to safely and effectively serve our community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to train alongside firefighters from across North Texas. The exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices helps strengthen not only our department, but the fire service as a whole.

A special thank you to the Frontier F.O.O.L.S. for hosting this outstanding training opportunity and for their continued commitment to firefighter education and safety.

Today, Parker County ESD 6 firefighters completed live fire evolutions at the Parker County ESD 1 training facility — better known as “The Well.”

A Shift, B Shift, and C Shift crews, along with several of our part-time firefighters, spent the day sharpening critical firefighting skills in realistic, high-stress scenarios. Training evolutions included first-floor fires, second-floor fires, simultaneous fires on both floors, and victim rescue operations throughout the structure.

Crews also operated with multiple engine companies performing fire attack, search, ventilation, and support tasks simultaneously to replicate the coordination and tempo of real-world incidents while emphasizing victim survivability and positive rescue outcomes.

This type of hands-on training pushes our firefighters physically and mentally while reinforcing the teamwork, communication, and decision-making needed on the fireground.

A big thank you to Parker County ESD 1 for the continued partnership and use of an outstanding training facility that helps prepare firefighters for the real-world challenges they face serving our communities.

We would also like to thank the members of the Cresson Fire Department for covering our stations and protecting our citizens while our firefighters trained today. Mutual aid and strong partnerships like these are what make the fire service successful.

Texas A&M Forest Service has raised the Wildland Fire Preparedness Level to Level 3 due to forecasted conditions, including high temperatures, low humidity, and dry vegetation, that are contributing to an elevated fire risk, along with increased resource commitments for prepositioning.

We continue to monitor the situation and stand ready to respond to any requests for assistance.

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we recognize the men and women who willingly answer the call at all hours — in the middle of the night, during storms, holidays, tragedies, and moments when others are running away from danger. Firefighters serve with courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to protecting their communities, often placing the needs of others before their own.

This recognition comes on the heels of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, where departments and families from across the nation paused to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. It is a solemn reminder that behind every badge is a person willing to risk everything for complete strangers, and that freedom, safety, and service often come at a tremendous cost.

Today we celebrate the proud tradition, brotherhood, and dedication of the fire service — while also remembering those who are no longer standing beside us. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their legacy continues through every alarm answered and every life served.

Please join us in honoring firefighters everywhere, both past and present.

Parker County storm recovery update – how you can help

As we move into the recovery phase of last weekend’s storm, we are working on assessing damage, organizing volunteers, and establishing a system for donations. Here’s what our community can do:

ISTAT DAMAGE REPORTING

Parker County works with the Texas Division of Emergency Management to track damage impacts. Residents with damage to their homes or businesses are asked to complete the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT). These self reported surveys help local and state officials understand the extent of damage and connect impacted Texans with available recovery resources.

iSTAT surveys are available in English and Spanish at damage.tdem.texas.gov. Please select the April 9 - Severe Weather event tab.

VOLUNTEER CENTER ESTABLISHED

All community members interested in lending a hand are asked to check in at the Volunteer Reception Center at the Parker County Springtown Annex, 1024 E. Hwy 199, between the hours of 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m., Monday-Friday. This helps us keep everyone safe and be most effective in our group efforts. Both individuals and organizations are welcome, however we ask that groups designate a single point of contact to represent them at registration. We also ask that everyone already volunteering also check in so we can stay organized.

DONATION CENTER DETAILS TBD

A central hub for donations is still in the works. Once we have established those details, we will provide an update on how to donate to our Springtown area neighbors. Please continue to follow our website and Facebook for updates.
Parker County Office of Emergency Management remains committed to safety for our community and is thankful to our citizens for their continued support.
