840th EN CO (MAC) [“Maniacs”], is a Combat Engineer Unit - Mobility Augmentation Company under the 111 EN BN [“Roughnecks”], 176 EN BDE [“Chaos”], all of which fall under the legendary 36 I.D. [“T-Patchers”] of the Texas Army National Guard. Unit Mission: To conduct, command and control assault gap crossings; mounted and dismounted breaches; emplace obstacles in support of maneuver brigade combat
teams (BCT) and support brigades to enable a tailored force package to be applied to a specific mission group focused logistics and constructive force protection. We work to provide the BCT with the minimum Offensive & Defensive Capabilities:
* Bypassing, marking, and breaching obstacles.
* Assisting in the assault of fortified positions.
* Emplacing obstacles to shape terrain.
* Constructing or enhancing survivability positions.
* Conducting route reconnaissance and information collection.
* Identifying and clearing explosive hazards. In addition to our warfighting function, we also provide the State of Texas the personnel and/or equipment the ability to readily deploy in campaigns assisting the support of civil authorities in order to protect Texas Citizens and mitigate risk to property and infrastructure. Generally, the aid and relief in times of emergency, to include but not limited to:
* Severe Weather (Hurricanes, Floods, Winter Storms, and Wild-Fire).
-- Search & Rescue, Food/Water Distribution, Debris Removal, Medical Support
* Pandemics
* Counter-drug support
* Civil Unrest/Disturbance
