Advanced Life Support at Junaluska Fire Department!

Junaluska Fire Department is proud to announce that we are now officially serving our community as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) agency.

This achievement reflects our continued commitment to providing the highest level of emergency medical care to the citizens and visitors we serve. By offering Advanced Life Support, our providers can deliver enhanced pre-hospital care, including advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and other life-saving interventions when every second counts.

The importance of this milestone became evident almost immediately. Within one hour of receiving our official approval letter from NC OEMS, our duty crew responded to a medical emergency where they were able to provide Advanced Life Support to a member of our community. It’s a powerful reminder that this enhanced level of service is more than a designation—it has the potential to make a difference when our neighbors need it most.

This accomplishment is the result of countless hours of training, preparation, and dedication by our members. We are grateful for the support of our community, our partner agencies, and everyone who helped make this possible.

We remain committed to providing professional, compassionate, and high-quality emergency services, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community with this enhanced level of care.

New Equipment In Service at Junaluska Fire Department!

We are excited to announce that Junaluska Fire Department has received our new skid unit, which will be mounted in UTV 18. This piece of equipment will be a tremendous asset during wildfire season, allowing our crews to access remote and difficult terrain quickly while carrying water and firefighting equipment where traditional apparatus cannot reach.

Earlier this week, our staff spent time testing and training with the new unit, ensuring everything is ready to go when needed. We’re happy to report that the skid unit is now officially in service and ready to support our community.

If you’re interested in seeing it up close, feel free to stop by Station 18 and take a look! We’re always glad to show the community the equipment that helps keep Junaluska safe.
