A major winter storm is impacting our area, bringing dangerously cold temperatures, snow, and icy conditions. For your safety — and the safety of our responders — we urge everyone to stay inside and avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.

Please keep these safety tips in mind:

• 🏠 Stay indoors as much as possible
• 🚗 Avoid driving — icy roads and poor visibility greatly increase crash risk. If you do drive please have warm blankets in your car.
• 🧥 Dress in layers if you must go outside; limit exposure to extreme cold
• 🔥 Use heaters safely — keep space heaters away from flammable items and never use generators or grills indoors
• 💧 Check on elderly neighbors, children, and those without adequate heat
• 🐾 Bring pets indoors — the cold can be deadly
• 📱 Keep phones charged in case of emergencies

Our EMS crews are ready and responding, but weather conditions can delay response times. Every unnecessary trip increases risk to you and to our responders.

🙏 Please do your part — stay safe, stay warm, and stay inside.

If you have a true emergency, call 911.

🚨 EMS Winter Safety Reminder ❄️

A winter storm with heavy snow and dangerously cold temperatures is expected in our area this weekend. Your local EMS wants to remind everyone to take extra precautions to stay safe.

Please remember:
• 🏠 Stay home if you can. Travel only if absolutely necessary. Road conditions can deteriorate quickly.
• 🚗 If you must drive: slow down, increase following distance, and keep an emergency kit in your vehicle (blankets, water, snacks, flashlight, phone charger).
• 🧤Protect yourself from the cold. Dress in layers, cover exposed skin, and limit time outdoors to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.
If you must go out, take your phone with you so you can contact someone in the event of a fall.

• 👵 Check on neighbors, family, and friends, especially older adults and those with medical conditions.

Our EMS crews will remain in service throughout the storm, but your preparation and caution help keep both the community and first responders safe.

Please stay warm, stay safe, and look out for one another. 💙❄️

Another great night of training. Last night our crews worked on extricating a live patient from a semi. Our ems crews worked simultaneously with our rescue personell. Plans were made, plans failed and crews moved on to plan b and sometimes plan c. Our crews experienced some difficulties with the height and found creative ways to overcome. Also huge thank you to Caden Long for being our live victim.
