Chief Abraham McKenzie (pictured) would like to acknowledge and give a special thanks to the people at Wayne County Mississippi Homemaker Volunteers who generously donated cold weather care packages, which will be given out by our WPD officers to those in need in the community.

These included much-needed items like blankets, gloves, socks, etc to help those in need.

Hello everyone, I hope everyone has had a happy and safe holiday season so far, and I would like to wish everyone a happy new year from us at the Waynesboro Police Department.

As you spend time with family and friends, our officers will be available 24/7, patrolling the city and keeping our neighborhoods as safe as possible. So if you need us, call us.

I would encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly and remain mindful of safety while enjoying fireworks and time together.

Also, please remember that discharging fi****ms within the city limits is illegal, and anyone found doing so will be subject to arrest.

Once again, we wish everyone a fun and safe holiday as we look forward to the new year!
