Today kicks off the free summer breakfast and lunch program at Waynesboro Area School District. This is open to all children ages 18 or younger. There is no requirement to get these meals. Pick up sites include: Fairview Elementary, Summitview Elementary, Mowrey Elementary and Valley View Village. Pick up times are from 11:30am to 12:00pm.

Advisor/teacher Wesley Newman, along with Career Coordinator Brian Fisher, took the Waynesboro Investment Club (18 students) to New York City to hear from executives from Mastercard at their Manhattan office building. They toured several floors, participated in a few simulations, and had the opportunity to speak with and ask questions to multiple employees from their Product Innovation team and other departments. They also took the Staten Island Ferry, visited Wall Street, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, and some other historic locations.

Students from Waynesboro Area Senior High School visited Johnson Controls on Friday, May 22, where they received an engaging and informative introduction to welding processes. The session also covered real-world welding applications. The students were provided with an overview of engineering highlighted by an interactive game. The group was given a demonstration showing how ice can be used to boil water and the science behind it.

The WASD Food Service Department would like to give a big thank you to members in the community for their monetary donation. With the money we received we were able to pay off all seniors and juniors lunch debt. We are grateful for the support.
