We appreciate the Waynesboro NAACP for inviting us to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the Waynesboro branch. It is an outstanding organization and the food was delicious. Yesterday was a great time for the Torch Run, which supported a truly amazing cause by raising money for the Special Olympics. Everyone excelled during the run, finishing strong while climbing Afton Mountain. Thank you to everyone who attended, and we look forward to an even bigger and better event next year.

Attention everyone!

On Thursday, June 4th, we will be meeting at 1:00 PM in the parking lot of Willy’s Ice Cream, located at 2800 W. Main Street. From there, we will be running approximately 4 miles to the top of the mountain, including a strong uphill push during the final mile and a half.

This run is in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, an incredible and inspiring event that helps support Special Olympics athletes and their programs. We encourage everyone to come out, participate, and show their support for this great cause.

A link to purchase a Torch Run T-shirt is attached. Proceeds from the shirts go directly to Special Olympics.

We hope to see you there as we come together to support an amazing organization and the athletes they serve!

Today, the Waynesboro Sheriff’s Office honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We are forever grateful to our fallen heroes and to the families who continue to carry their legacy. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends today, please take a moment to remember those who paid the highest price for our nation.

From all of us at the Waynesboro Sheriff’s Office, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

We truly consider this event one of our favorites and eagerly anticipate it each year. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helps organize this wonderful occasion, as well as to the dedicated volunteers who make it all possible. The beautiful ladies and handsome gentlemen that Night to Shine celebrates were an absolute joy to see—they radiated happiness and kept smiles on our faces all evening. We were also so happy to reconnect with the many friends we’ve made over the past three years.
