In addition to graduating, Officer McDonald was honored with the Christopher Hampton Memorial Award. Officer McDonald will begin her orientation at the Wayne Police Department next week. This “Final Enforcement Notice” going around is NOT legitimate. It’s a scam designed to scare you into paying or giving up personal information.

⚠️ Red flags:
- Urgent threats like “final notice” or “enforcement action”
- Multiple random violations listed together (toll, parking, speeding)
- QR code for payment (courts don’t operate like this)
- No clear, verifiable contact info tied to a real case

👉 DO NOT:
- Scan the QR code
- Click any links
- Call numbers listed on the notice
- Send any payment

✔️ DO:
- Ignore it
- Contact your local court directly if you’re unsure
- Report it to the FTC here: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov

Congratulations to Officer Alzayadi, who honored as the 2025 Wayne Police Department Police Officer of the Year at last week's City Council Meeting. Officer Alzayadi was selected as Police Officer of the Year for his proactive policing and commitment to the community. While presenting Officer Alzayadi with his award, Chief Strong stated, "Officer Alzayadi is exactly the kind of officer we want patrolling our streets – he cares deeply about keeping our streets safe by arresting dangerous criminals and enforcing traffic laws, while also realizing the strong positive role police officers play in working with the community."

We are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Wayne Police Department this year. The Wayne Police Department was founded in October 1926. One of the ways we are celebrating is by having one of our patrol cars wrapped in a historical design. Our friends at Jack Demmer Ford were kind enough to pay for the new graphics. We've also included some photos of older patrol cars. Thanks to our friends at the The Wayne Historical Society for helping us out with research! Look for other 100th anniversary updates later this year.
