Repost from The Passaic County Sheriff’s Office is in mourning due to the untimely passing of our Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik. Sheriff Berdnik began his service as Passaic County Sheriff in 2011, following a 28 year career with the Clifton, NJ Police Department, retiring as a Detective Lieutenant. Sheriff Berdnik proudly wore the uniform for over 40 years.

Sheriff Berdnik was a son, husband, father, grandfather, boss and friend to all. We ask that you please respect the family during this difficult time and keep Sheriff Berdnik, his family and the entire Passaic County Sheriff’s Office in your thoughts and prayers.

Visitation for Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik will take place on Tuesday January 30, 2024 from 3-8pm at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist located at 381 Grand Street Paterson, NJ.

Funeral Services for Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik will take place on Wednesday January 31, 2024 10am at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist located at 381 Grand Street Paterson, NJ.
