Pitch, Hit & Run
Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) is a FREE, exciting skills event providing boys and girls the opportunity to compete in four levels of competition including Team Championship events at all 30 Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game. The Wayne Baseball Association and Parks & Recreation Department have teamed up for a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on May 8, 2015 at 6:00pm! The event will be held at the Wayne Community Center. Tickets are on sale for $7.00/Adult and $4.00/Child. Tickets are on sale at the Wayne Community Center!! This event will benefit The Wayne Baseball Association and Wayne Community Center Youth Programs. Hot Fudge Sundaes will be on sale by Senior Services!!

On Saturday, April 25 at 10am, beginning in the Earth's earliest time zone in New Zealand, a peaceful soothing event unfolded and traveled around the Earth throughout the entire day--time zone by time zone. T'ai Chi & Qigong groups around the world gathered at their own locations to exercise together and demonstrate their healthful art. This event was hosted by the Wayne Senior Services Office and held at the Wayne Community Center. The Wayne Senior Services Office currently offers Intermediate and Advance classes. They are looking to start a Beginners class on Tuesday, September 15th at 9am. Please call the office to register for that class. 734-721-7460. Session is for 10 weeks and is $65 per person/ per session.

Recital tickets for the Dance/Gymnastics/Cheer program are on sale now at the Wayne Community Center. The show will be held on Saturday, April 18th at 6:30pm and Sunday, April 19th at 2:30pm. Pre-sale tickets are $6.00 until April 16th at 6:00pm. Tickets will be $11.00 at the door the nights of the Recital.

Summer Day Camp
Summer Day Camp will be returning to the Wayne Community Center! Camp dates are June 15-August 21 for ages 7-12! There will be field trips, camp shirts, arts & crafts and much more! Pick up your camp information packet at the Wayne Community Center Front Desk! Registration begins May 1, 2015!!

James J. Poplin Award
We are encouraging nominations for the Recreation Advisory Board’s James J. Poplin Distinguished Service Award. This award is presented to an individual who has been an outstanding recreational supporter. To qualify for this award, the candidate must have a minimum of five years of voluntary service within the Parks & Recreation area. Visit our website at ci.wayne.mi.us and click on the Recreation tab.
