This was the First Reading
This item was unanimously approved by all on City Council

Request to approve the reappointment of Pam Dobrowski to the Local Officers Compensation Commision for a seven (7) year term, to expire Feb 2032
This passed with six yes votes and one no vote

Motorized Bicycles (E-Bikes)
Motorized bicycles, commonly referred to as e-bikes, are treated similarly to traditional bicycles. They can operate on roads and bike lanes without the need for registration. E-bikes are categorized into three classes:

Overview of Michigan Bicycle Laws
In Michigan, bicycles are not classified as vehicles but share similar rights and responsibilities with motor vehicle drivers. Understanding these laws is crucial for both cyclists and motorists to ensure safety on the roads.

Key Bicycle Regulations
Riding Position
Bicyclists must ride as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway when traveling below the speed of traffic.
Exceptions to this rule include:
Overtaking another bicycle or vehicle.
Preparing to turn left.
Unsafe conditions on the right side, such as potholes or debris.
Riding in a lane where vehicles are turning right but the cyclist intends to go straight.
On one-way streets with two or more lanes, cyclists may ride close to the left curb.
Signaling
Bicyclists are required to use hand signals for turns and stops:
Left Turn: Extend left hand/arm horizontally.
