The Wayne County Sheriff's Department Drug Enforcement Unit is taking steps to reach out to the community to work closer together to help combat drug dealers. Its up to the community to join in the fight and join the Facebook group ' Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit'. The social media group is designed for the public to confidentially contact the unit to give drug tips, sign up to be a C

Sheriff Eddie Bradshaw stated that the Violent Crime and Drug Task Force West along with the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit have dismantled multiple drug trafficking organizations.

Sheriff Bradshaw stated that multiple traffic stops were conducted along with seven search warrants executed in Huntington, Fort Gay, and Crum. The investigations have been ongoing for many months. The operations resulted in the seizure of approximately 23.5 pounds of Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, He**in, Co***ne, Crack Co***ne and Ma*****na that was valued at $270,000. Sheriff Bradshaw stated that more than $110,000 cash was seized along with 19 fi****ms .

Sheriff Bradshaw stated that the Violent Crime and Drug Task Force West is operated by members from the WV State Police, Wayne County Sheriffs Department, and Cabell County Sheriffs Department.

All but a few of the following charged were involved in drug trafficking organizations.

Chad Salmons, of Fort Gay, is charged with 6 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 8 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver, and 2 counts of Conspiracy to Distribute Controlled Substances. Chad was sentenced to 7 years and 1-15 years in prison.

Louri Williamson, of Fort Gay, is charged with 2 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver, and 2 counts of Conspiracy to Distribute Controlled Substances.

John Maynard, of Huntington, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver and 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute 50 grams or more of Methamphetamine. John was sentenced to 16 years in prison.

Danika Pruitt, of Mingo Co, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver and 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute 50 grams or more of Methamphetamine. Danika was sentenced to 4 years in prison.

Bennie Figures, of Huntington, is charged with 4 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Sentell 'Newbie' Hicks, of Columbus, is charged with 2 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Robert 'Rob' Taylor, of Huntington, is charged with 1 count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver. Robert was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison.

Jimmie 'Beebo' Thompson, of Fort Gay, is charged with 5 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver, and 1 count of Escape.

Dennis 'Ferg' Ferguson, of Prichard, is charged with 1 count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 3 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver. and 1 count of Prohibited from Possessing Fi****ms. Dennis was sentenced to 3-15 years and 1-3 years in prison.

Keith Johnson, of Fort Gay, is charged with 5 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Nathen 'Nate' Spence, of Fort Gay, is charged with 1 count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Danny Pack, of Fort Gay, is charged with 5 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and 3 counts of Conspiracy.

Doris Strickland, of Lawrence Co KY, is charged with 4 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Benjamin Lester, of Huntington, is charged with 3 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

John New, of Dunlow, is charged with 4 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 3 counts of Conspiracy, and 1 count of Prohibited from Possessing Fi****ms.

Jason Waller, of Fort Gay, is charged with 1 count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Jason was sentenced to 4 years and 1-3 years in prison.

William 'Bill' Frasher,of Fort Gay, is charged with 1 count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Clay 'Jazz' Richbow, of Detroit, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver and 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl.

Jeffrey Clay, of East Lynn, is charged with 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl and 1 count of Aiding and Abetting.

Roger Smith, of Columbus, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Joseph Mullins, of Crum, is charged with 1 count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver, 2 counts of Prohibited from Possessing Fi****ms, and 1 count of Cultivation. Joseph was sentenced to 1-5 years in prison.

Heather Jackson, of Lavalette, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Clyde Logan, of Carter Co, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Charlene Jude, of Martin Co, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Donald Cornette, of Martin Co, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Louellen Jennings, of Martin Co, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Oscar Leach, of Boyd Co, is charged with 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Cassie Sloas, of Boyd Co. is charged with 1 count of Aiding and Abetting.

James Mason Valandingham, of Carter Co, is charged with 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Kyler Messer, of Lawrence Co KY, is charged with 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Randy Frisby, of Fort Gay, is charged with 1 count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver. Randy was sentenced to 1-15 years in prison.

The following have warrants issued for their arrest:

Ronald McComas, of Huntington, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Joseph Bailey, of Carter Co, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver and 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute 10 to 100 grams of He**in.

Ashley Adams, of Carter Co, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver and 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute 10 to 100 grams of He**in.

Tyler Ratcliff, of Carter Co, is charged with 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver and 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute 10 to 100 grams of He**in.

Sheriff Eddie Bradshaw stated that a major drug dealer was arrested in Prichard during a traffic stop.

Sheriff Bradshaw stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop on a sedan driven by John Maynard, of Huntington.

John consented to a vehicle search and while conducting a search of the vehicle the liner inside the trunk was removed. The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit located three plastic bags containing approximately 5 pounds of Methamphetamine behind the liner.

The investigation revealed that John was supplying Methamphetamine to the Kenova, Fort Gay, and Crum areas of Wayne County along with Cabell, Mingo, Martin (KY), and Lawrence (KY).

Sheriff Bradshaw stated that the street value of the Methamphetamine was approximately $32,000. John is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver. More charges from this investigation are pending. A report was submitted to the Federal prosecutor.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.

Sheriff Eddie Bradshaw stated a fugitive from Detroit was arrested in East Lynn.

The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit stopped a vehicle in the East Lynn area and during a probable cause search located more than a quarter pound of Fentanyl hid in the suspects underwear. Ma*****na and a digital scale were also seized.

The suspect lied about his name and was later identified as Clay 'Jazz' Richbow who was a fugitive from Ohio for dangerous drugs and also a fugitive from Michigan for a parole violation for gun charges.

Richbow is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver - Fentanyl, Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl, Obstructing, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Sheriff Bradshaw stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit has received information that Richbow was distributing Fentanyl in the Wayne, East Lynn, and Kiahsville area of Wayne County. More charges are pending from this investigation.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.

Sheriff Eddie Bradshaw stated that a drug suspect from Huntington was arrested.

Brian Maynard was arrested for a warrant that stemmed from an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit in the Fort Gay area.

Sheriff Bradshaw stated that baggies of Methamphetamine was collected from Brian during a traffic stop. Brian admitted to distributing Methamphetamine and helping others from Wayne County acquire Methamphetamine.

Brian is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine.

Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that a suspect was arrested for drugs and weapon charges.

Sheriff Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit stopped a vehicle in the Fort Gay area and the driver was attempting to hide drugs. The Drug Enforcement Unit got to the door of the vehicle as Brandon Fasnacht was attempting to shove a bag containing a distribution quantity of Methamphetamine down his pants.

A loaded Ta**us 9mm with an extended magazine was located under the driver's seat. Ma*****na was also seized from Brandon's pocket.

Brandon is currently on parole for Fleeing from Kentucky officers into WV on a crotch rocket in 2021. The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit blocked the main road and sent Brandon down a dead-end road where he was taken into custody during that incident.

Brandon was arrested and is charged with being prohibited from possessing a firearm, concealed weapon by a prohibited person, and Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine.

Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that a suspect was arrested after two vehicle pursuits in less than two months.

Sheriff Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit attempted to stop a vehicle to arrest the driver for a felony warrant on WV Rt 37. The driver, Joseph 'Jojo' McCoy of Louisa, accelerated around the cruiser and fled south on US Rt 52 at a high rate of speed.

Joseph lost control of his vehicle at the Fort Gay traffic light and crashed into the guard rail. Joseph was taken into custody and is charged with felony fleeing in a vehicle. Joseph had a warrant for felony fleeing in a vehicle from another pursuit in the Fort Gay area on July 31st. Misdemeanor charges are pending on the passenger of the vehicle.

Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that another major drug dealer has been arrested.

Sheriff Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant in the Fort Gay area after an investigation.

Sheriff Thompson stated that a safe was located in the residence and the Fort Gay Fire Department responded to open the safe.

Once inside the safe the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit seized nearly 6 pounds of Methamphetamine.

In addition a distribution quantity of Fentanyl, Co***ne, Suboxone, Ma*****na, THC gummies, fi****ms, and nearly $10,000 cash were also seized.

Chad Salmons is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, Possession with Intent to Deliver Co***ne, Possession with Intent to Deliver Suboxone, Possession with Intent to Deliver Ma*****na, and Possession with Intent to Deliver THC gummies.

Road Patrol deputies assisted in this operation. Sheriff Thompson stated that he appreciates the Fort Gay Fire Department for being able to assist deputies in securing the evidence from the safe.

Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that a suspect with multiple warrants was arrested in the Fort Gay area.

Shawn ‘Shug’ Risner was arrested by road patrol deputies for warrants issued from separate incidents.

Risner was indicted for Felony Fleeing in a vehicle, Felony Destruction of Property, Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Assault on a Police Officer, and Prohibited Person from Possessing a Firearm. A capias was issued after Risner didn't appear after being indicted on the charges.

Sheriff Thompson stated that during a vehicle pursuit by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit, Risner used his truck to ram a deputy’s cruiser and then side swiped it. The pursuit went through Big Branch Road and the Black Oak Gap area in Dunlow. The suspect struck the cruiser again as they were maneuvering up a muddy hill. Deputies eventually terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.

The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit was able to locate a G***k handgun with an extended magazine and a large bag of Methamphetamine that weighed approximately a quarter pound that was thrown from the vehicle. Risner is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Risner posted bond for that incident and before being indicted was arrested by road patrol deputies for Burglary, Animal Cruelty, and battery. During that arrest Risner was in Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and in possession of a distribution quantity of Fentanyl.

Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that a major drug dealer was arrested in the Fort Gay area.

Sheriff Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit along with Road Patrol Deputies executed a search warrant for weapons and an additional search warrant for drugs this morning on SaltPetre Rd.

The search yielded two handguns, approximately 153 grams of Co***ne, approximately 6 pounds of Ma*****na, digital scales, and more than $30,000 cash.

Clyde 'Patch' Chapman is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Co***ne, Possession with Intent to Deliver Shrooms, and Possession with Intent to Deliver Ma*****na. More charges are pending.

Sheriff Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit stopped a vehicle in the Fort Gay area and located a loaded 45 handgun hidden where the passenger was seated.

Commodore Bell was arrested and charged with being prohibited from possessing a firearm and concealed weapon by a prohibited person.

Sheriff Thompson stated that Commodore has an extensive violent history including the following felony convictions in West Virginia: Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 1st Degree, Unlawful Assault x 2, Malicious Assault/ Malicious Wounding, Arson 1st Degree, Arson 4th degree, and Conspiracy.

Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that a suspect was arrested for weapon and drug charges.

Sheriff Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit stopped a vehicle in the Fort Gay area to arrest a passenger of the vehicle for drug warrants.

During the arrest Methamphetamine and Fentanyl was seized. While conducting the traffic stop another passenger, identified as Kyler Messer of Louisa, was observed hiding items. A distribution quantity of Methamphetamine along with baggies and Fentanyl were recovered from his underwear.

Five handguns, a suppressor, and multiple magazines were recovered from the trunk area. A sum of US Currency was also seized from Kyler.

Kyler is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Deliver He**in, and 5 counts for Carrying a Concealed weapon under 21. More charges are pending in the investigation.
