Wayland Area EMS Wayland Area EMS is a volunteer governmental authority that provides emergency medical services to Allegan and Barry counties.

Wayland Area EMS (WAEMS) is a nontaxable governmental authority created by the townships of Salem, Dorr, Leighton, Monterey, Hopkins, Wayland, Watson, Orangeville, Yankee Springs and the City of Wayland to provide emergency medical services to western Barry and eastern part of Allegan County. WAEMS is a volunteer organization with about 120 active members

that help provide medical first response and ambulance transports. WAEMS is dispatched through Allegan and Barry County central dispatches. Our organization actively promotes EMS and continuing education. Currently we are authorized to teach MFR, EMT-Basic, and specialist classes. Wayland Area EMS also teaches AHA CPR, and baby sitting classes.
