Earlier this evening there was Wayland Police and Fire Department activity in the area of Main stone and Indian Dawn.

There was a report of a missing elderly party in the area. Multiple assets were called for assistance and the Wayland Police utilized our drone resources.

We are glad to report that after approximately two hours the party was located returning to their residence.

We are thankful for the multiple mutual aid partners that responded to the scene and assisted in the search.

Today, Wayland Public Safety Officials and Town Officials gathered for a memorial ceremony to honor the lives lost on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001 .

Together, we remembered those who lost their lives and reflected on the courage and sacrifice of first responders. 💙

This week there was several motor vehicle breaks in the Town of Wayland. The Wayland Police Department is actively investigating.

We want to remind resident of visitors of Wayland that the best prevention is locking your vehicle and removing all items of value from sight within your vehicle. We recommend you secure all valuables out of sight within your vehicle, historically handbags, wallets and electronics that are left visible have been targeted

The Town of Wayland is inviting residents, business owners, and community members to help shape its updated Hazard Mitigation Plan – a critical document that identifies natural hazard risks facing the community and outlines strategies to reduce damage to people, property, infrastructure, and the environment.

Residents are encouraged to participate in an upcoming public meeting to share their experiences, identify local hazard concerns, and provide input.

Join the Town of Wayland as we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, on the 25th anniversary of the attacks. Hosted by the Wayland Fire Department, this ceremony offers our community a meaningful space to reflect and remember together.

Location: Public Safety Building, 38 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778

The ceremony will include a moment of silence, remarks, and tolling of the bell. The community is invited to attend and join the Town in honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

📢 Wayland Electronic Voting Implementation Committee: Volunteers Needed 📢

The purpose of the committee is to advise the Moderator on the accurate and effective use of Electronic Voting at Wayland Town Meetings. ELVIS members oversee the implementation and deployment of electronic voting at Annual and Special Town Meetings.

Members of ELVIS meet remotely during the week at night approximately three to four times per year, or as the need requires.

Requirements:

🏠Must be a registered voter and resident of Wayland
💻Working knowledge of computer software and IT are particularly encouraged to apply.
✔️ Attendance at prior Town Meetings is a plus.
