⚠️ RENTAL SCAM WARNING ⚠️
We were recently made aware that a scammer stole photos and information from one of our rental listings and created fake social media advertisements for the property. Unfortunately, someone was tricked into sending money and signing a fake lease before realizing it was a scam.
Please protect yourself when searching for rentals online:
🏡 Always drive by the property first and look for signage showing the real property management company or brokerage.
📞 Call the company directly using a verified phone number from their official website or Google business listing — not just the number listed in a social media post.
💻 Be cautious of listings on TikTok, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or social media that:
• Ask for deposits before seeing the property
• Refuse in-person showings
• Pressure you to send money quickly
• Communicate only through text or messaging apps
• Offer prices that seem too good to be true
🔑 A legitimate property management company or real estate brokerage should be able to:
• Verify the listing directly
• Explain their application process
• Provide office contact information
• Schedule a showing through official channels
Please help spread awareness by sharing this post. Rental scams are becoming more common, and we want to help protect our community from losing money or personal information.
If you ever have questions about whether a listing is legitimate, contact the brokerage or property management company directly before sending any money. 🧡
