Wacona Elementary is proud to announce that Dallas Crawford is the September 2026 recipient of the Golden Hornet Award!
The Golden Hornet Award is a special honor that recognizes staff members who consistently go above and beyond their call of duty while embodying the spirit of teamwork, service, dedication, and positivity. It celebrates individuals whose contributions make Wacona Elementary a better place for students, staff, and families and helps foster a culture of appreciation and recognition throughout our school community.
While Dallas’s primary role is serving as our Special Education Secretary, anyone who knows her knows that her impact reaches far beyond her job title. Dallas wears many hats at Wacona and is always willing to step in wherever she is needed. Her flexibility, dependability, and servant’s heart make her an invaluable part of our school family.
No matter what the day brings, Dallas approaches it with a positive attitude and a willingness to help. Whether she is handling her daily responsibilities, assisting a staff member, supporting a student, or simply stepping in to meet a need, she does so with kindness and a smile. Her willingness to serve others is a wonderful example of the teamwork and dedication that the Golden Hornet Award represents.
Perhaps one of Dallas’s greatest gifts is the joy and encouragement she brings to our halls each day. Even on days when she may not be feeling her best, she still greets others with a smile and continues to encourage those around her. Her positivity is contagious, and her presence helps make Wacona a brighter and happier place for both students and staff.
Dallas, thank you for wearing so many hats, for always being willing to lend a hand, and for filling our school with joy and encouragement. We are grateful for all you do and for the positive difference you make each and every day.
