This morning we had the privilege of hosting our Waxahachie Fire retiree brothers at Station 4. These men laid the foundation for what Waxahachie Fire-Rescue Department is today.
Many stories were shared this morning, but one in particular really stood out to me. Only 16 years ago, we didn’t even staff our truck. Two guys ran the squad, and if a call came in that required truck capabilities, they would drive back to the station, jump on the truck, and respond.
It really puts things into perspective, especially after seeing the picture posted a few days ago of our four trucks parked in front of Station 4. We are beyond blessed, not only to work here, but to have the equipment and resources we have today.
Thank you to all the retirees who came out this morning. We will forever be grateful and forever owe you for the sacrifices you made and the service you gave to this department and community.
