Hello all, Happy Holidays!
I will be posting for our artic blast predicted to hit Thursday and Friday over the next few days as my advice changes. First I would like to remind our customers that this is our typical Texas weather, not what we experienced February 2021. That was a catastrophic event, unseen in many years in Texas. And this post is only for our single family home owners as they are the only ones with these options.
1. If you will be traveling for the holidays - drain it just like you would with your plumbing. Or leave a trusted neighbor/family member to do it in the even of option 2
2. If we loose electricity, or go to extensive rolling blackouts
3. Leave it live and operational. Remember the helpers we gave you. Open the cabinet if your riser is in the garage and place a space heater in front of it to keep it nice and warm. Also if your attic access is in the conditioned home open it up and let heat spread to your attic. If the access is in the garage, shut it do not open. You must maintain 40F, consider putting a thermometer in the attic for ease of monitoring.
4. Call us if you need us or have concerns, need guidance; please understand that we are answering calls as fast as we can but we are overloaded with the holiday schedule as well.
Office schedule. The office and staff will be out from noon Friday, Dec. 23 - Jan. 2 with the exception of emergency service calls and special situations in active construction. However please understand that we want to help you over the phone if we can, however in person will be very limited.
Wishing you all the best from Rhino Fire Protection, LLC. Stay Safe!
