On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Humphreys County Sheriff’s Deputies and Waverly Police Department located Ben Schloesser at a residence on Oak Ridge Dr in Waverly. Schloesser was taken into custody without incident for his numerous felony warrants.

Sheriff Davis stated, “I just want to say thank you to everyone who was involved in assisting with locating Schloesser. This is a great example of how we work better when we can all come together as one team. I also want to thank everyone in the community for all your help. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the help and the constant support of our community.”

We are proud of the teamwork displayed and all the hard work put in by all the detectives, deputies, and officers involved.

Please use caution at all intersections through the city this evening. We've had some power outages due to the storm and several traffic lights are out. Treat them as 4 way stops and be cautious when entering the intersection. Utility crews are out restoring power.
