⛳ BCPOA Golf Tournament Registration is Open!

Registration is now open for the Jerry Greenlee Sr. Memorial Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Waverly Golf Course.

* 4-Person Best Shot
* 8:00 AM Registration / 9:00 AM Shotgun Start
* $60 per person (includes cart & meal)

Open to: Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, Dispatch, Military, and friends/family.

We’re expecting another great turnout, so be sure to get your team signed up early.

A Waverly Police Captain’s experience as a mentor helped lead to a $2,500 donation, April 8, to AIM (All In Mentoring), a local nonprofit working to expand youth mentorship programs

Last week, AIM was honored to receive a generous $2,500 donation from the Bremer County Peace Officer's Association. Beyond their dedicated service to our communities, they go above and beyond by raising funds to support local nonprofits and children throughout Bremer County.

We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and for choosing to support AIM. Thank you for making a difference!

The Bremer County Peace Officers Association is proud to support All In Mentoring with a $2,500 donation.

All In Mentoring is a local nonprofit that pairs adult mentors with youth (K–6th grade) to build strong, positive relationships and help set kids up for success. Their impact continues to grow each year.

During the 2024–2025 school year:
• 69% of mentees improved
attendance
• 46% increased math scores
• 46% increased literacy scores

Programs like this make a real difference—not just in school, but in building confidence, character, and future leaders in our communities.

We’re proud to support an organization that is investing in the next generation right here in our area.

Shop with a Cop 2025

This morning, officers from the Waverly Police Department, Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, Janesville Police Department, and the Iowa State Patrol partnered together for our annual Shop with a Cop event at the Waverly Walmart.

Kids spent the morning shopping alongside local law enforcement, picking out gifts and enjoying a positive, memorable experience. This event is always a highlight for our agencies and a great way to give back to the community we serve.

A huge thank-you to Walmart for their hospitality, support, and generosity in helping make this day special for the families who participated.

We appreciate everyone who helped make this event a success, and we look forward to continuing this tradition each year.

BCPOA Scholarship Recipients

The Bremer County Peace Officers Association is proud to recognize our two 2025 scholarship recipients.

Izzy Hoelscher – Recipient of the Jerry Greenlee Sr. Memorial Scholarship ($1,000).
Izzy is a first-year Police Science major at Hawkeye Community College. She’s from the Waverly area and has always dreamed of a career in law enforcement, following in the footsteps of her parents who both serve as police officers. Izzy hopes to work for a local department and one day become a detective.

Calen Franzen – Recipient of the BCPOA Scholarship ($900).
Calen is also a first-year Police Science major at Hawkeye Community College. He grew up near Waucoma and has been surrounded by first responders his whole life—his father has served on the Waucoma Fire Department for over 40 years. Calen joined the department himself in 2024 and hopes to continue serving his community as a law enforcement officer in Northeast Iowa.

We’re proud to support these two outstanding students as they pursue their goals in public safety. Congratulations, Izzy and Calen.

Wow, what a day! We want to start off by giving thanks to everyone that made this year’s Jerry Greenlee SR. Memorial Golf Tournament possible! Thank you to everyone that donated and participated, to Davison Gun Shop, to our golf committee that helped organize and plan everything, to the Bremer County Pork Producers, and to the Waverly Municipal Golf Course. Yesterday turned out to be a great success and we couldn’t have done it without all of you! The money raised during our tournament each year will go right back into our communities in various ways! Thank you again for yet another great tournament! We hope to see everyone back next year!
