Congratulations to Captain Luke Vetter on graduating from Wisconsin Law Enforcement Command College Class #12.

The Wisconsin Command College, a partnership between the Wisconsin Department of Justice and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Certified Public Manager Program, is an intense, six-week in-residence leadership and management development program that prepares law enforcement leaders for the challenges facing their profession.

Captain Vetter’s successful completion of this program demonstrates his dedication to continuous learning, professional growth, and leadership excellence. Advanced leadership training like this strengthens our ability to fulfill our mission of providing dedicated service and protection to our community.

Charges have been filed in connection with the February 8, 2026, shooting during a Super Bowl party at the Palmer Masonic Lodge.

A 22-year-old male has been charged with First Degree Reckless Injury – Use of a Dangerous Weapon.

Investigators were able to identify the shooter with the help of witnesses who came forward and provided critical information. We are grateful for their cooperation and assistance.

We also recognize the dedicated work of our patrol officers and detectives whose persistence and commitment to public safety helped move this investigation forward, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.

Community cooperation matters. Public safety is a shared responsibility, and partnerships between law enforcement and the community remain essential in helping keep our community safe.

Today our motor officers had the privilege of providing an es**rt for the 15th Annual Law Enforcement Charity Motorcycle Ride. The ride began at the House of Harley in Greenfield and all proceeds benefited the WI Concerns of Police Survivors (WI C.O.P.S.).

WI C.O.P.S. provides resources and support to the families and coworkers of our fallen heroes. Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) is a national nonprofit organization that offers a wide array of services to the families of officers lost in the line of duty, including their Kids Camp which is held in Salem, WI!

It was a beautiful day for a ride.

🚲 Public Safety Reminder 🚲

With warmer weather, we've seen an increase in bicycle, e-bike, and electric scooter use throughout our community, particularly among our youth. We've also received concerns about excessive speeds and riders not following traffic laws.

Please remember:

🚦 Follow the rules of the road
• Obey stop signs and traffic signals
• Use proper hand signals
• No more than two e-bikes riding abreast
• Riders must be 16+ to operate a Class 3 e-bike

🚔 Regardless of what you ride, you are required to stop when signaled by law enforcement.

Our goal is education, prevention, and safety. We encourage parents to discuss safe riding practices with their children and ensure they understand the rules of the road.

☀️ Ride smart. Ride Safely.

Congratulations to our newest Motor Operator, PS Dexter Schleis!

PS Schleis recently graduated from the Basic Police Motorcycle Operator Course through Texas A&M Extension Service and Harley-Davidson.

Police motorcycles provide unique advantages over squad cars, allowing officers to access tight or confined areas that traditional vehicles cannot. Our motor officers specialize in traffic enforcement and crash investigations while also supporting dignitary es**rts and community events.

They also create a more approachable way to connect with the community. If you see PS Schleis out in the neighborhood, be sure to say hello! 👋
