Today, we celebrated the incredible participants of the Senior Tax Exchange Program (STEP) at the Wauwatosa Senior Centers! This groundbreaking program, launched by the Wauwatosa Recreation Department, has connected more than 50 seniors with our elementary students to share stories, skills, and a love for learning. 📚

By fostering intergenerational connections, STEP has strengthened our community and schools. These dedicated seniors have spent countless hours supporting students and library staff, proving that learning truly knows no age. 🙌

📽️👀 Check out this video to learn more about the inspiring bonds built through STEP!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this program possible, including our supportive community leaders and the enthusiastic “steppers” who continue to inspire us all. Special thanks to Wauwatosa Senior Centers Director Kosta Zervas, Director of Recreation Ted Martin, Elementary Library Media Services Coordinator Meegan Archambo and the entire elementary library team for making this possible!

Learn more about STEP and see how you can get involved in next year’s program at tosarec.com/step or contact the Wauwatosa Recreation Department at [email protected] or 414-773-2900.
