New year new....

Its 2026 now. Did 2025 treat you well? Another year has come and gone in a flash. Looking back you probably had some goals for yourself. Some real ideas and plans that may or may not have come to fruition. If they didn't, Its probably because of your plans or the craziness we call life. Let me simplify it for you. The Marine Reserves.

What is it:
A simplified plan that allow you to serve as a United States Marine while only working 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer

How does it benefit you:
1. Simplified health and dental
2. College paid for
3. On job training for your guaranteed job

Whose eligible:
1. Age 17-29
2. High school diploma or on track to graduate
3. Pass the medical evaluation

For the future Marines of central Wisconsin. We got together and ran our IST which is an Initial Strength Test on Saturday. We even got to introduce our newest recruiter of the area. Staff Sergeant Martyn. The IST is consisted of a mile and a half run for time, Ammo can lifts, Plank and pull ups. All of these events are timed and are at a maximum effort. The Team here in Wausau had an awesome day and are already looking forward to next months event. If you or someone you know want to come and see what your made of please give us a call or stop by one of our locations between a Marine in one of our three locations would be glad to help.

All, Please join me in wishing these young men good luck as they are offically starting there time at recruit training. Congradulations to recruits Kopecky and Weller. Both of these young men hail from DC Everest Senior High School. Make us proud gents and good luck to you on your journey. We will see you in 13 weeks!

Meet "Chesty" Puller or Lewis Burwell Puller. He was a man of symbol and character. He lead from the front and by example. Any person who calls them selves a "Marine" knows theses stories even down to his 5 Navy crosses he wore on his chest. He is famously know for his involvement in the banana wars, World war 2 and the Korean war after which followed some time at Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot, Paris Island. Additionally, he never accepted any special treatment. He ate, slept and lived like his men. Above all else, his men ate before him.
Somewhere out there there's a Marine doing one extra pull up just for Chesty.

Life is what you make it. It's about making decisions to set yourself up for the future. We are driven through passion, hobbies, excellence and where we see ourselves 5, 10, 15 years down the road and when we are looking to retire. Wouldn't it be nice to have the ability to retire early or what about having an opportunity to have two pensions before your 60. It can be done. It's all about 5he decision we make the day after we graduate high school. I guarantee you we all thought about or know someone who has wanted to serve there country and didn't. It all about "the warriors mindset"

Most may not understand, some may judge. While others will show the highest of respects. It is for the men and women who have served this great country. Some have made the ultimate sacrifice. However, there will be a calling for those select few. To do something more. This picture was taken in Spencer, WI today and It's these small remeberances that should remind all of us what it took to get where we are today. But also as a challenge for the young man or woman who is looking for their calling. A sense of belonging. To have purpose and, in some cases upholding the family legacy. To those of us who are currently serving, thank you and to those of you looking to serve or find out what your place in the Marines can look like. Motivation? We got that! I wanted to give a shout out to one of our recruiters Staff Sergeant Trull. As seen in the picture. What you put in is what you get out. There is no shortness of what we put in around here either. Between getting some burpees in or even... a little run. Here in wausau, we are harded by the motivated young men and women who want more, who strive for success and won't settle for anything less.
