Meet the Firefighter ๐Ÿš’

Help us welcome the newest member of the Washington County Fire Department, FF Begalke!

FF Begalke joined WCFD in July and is stationed at WCFD Station 40. His dedication and commitment have already made a lasting impression. During his first two weeks with WCFD, he completed an intensive two-week probationary school designed to prepare him for the challenges of the fire service.

Throughout the process, FF Begalke demonstrated his willingness to learn, dedication to the job, and commitment to serving our community.

We are excited to have FF Begalke as part of the WCFD family, and we canโ€™t wait to see all that he accomplishes throughout his career with us!

The fire has been extinguished at this time. Crews remain on scene conducting overhaul operations and working to fully extinguish any remaining hot spots.

Fire departments in Washington County are currently on scene of a fully involved structure fire in the 4900 block of Warmouth Road.

Additional units are continuing to respond to the scene. Please avoid this area and allow emergency responders the space they need to safely respond, work, and contain the fire.

Fire departments across Washington County have been actively responding to downed power lines and downed trees due to the current weather conditions.

Please use extreme caution on the roadways at this time.

โš ๏ธ If you encounter a downed power line:
โ€ข Stay away from it.
โ€ข Never attempt to drive over it.
โ€ข Always treat downed power lines as live and energized.
โ€ข Call 911 immediately and report the location.

๐Ÿš’ If you see emergency responders working along the roadway, please slow down, use extra caution, and move over when possible.

But seriously: Weโ€™re under an Extreme Heat Warning today, with heat index values reaching up to 115ยฐ. Please take the heat seriously.
