🌧️ Wet roads can change everything in seconds.

Hydroplaning occurs when your tires lose contact with the roadway and begin riding on a layer of water, causing a sudden loss of steering and control.

A few simple precautions can make a big difference:
🚫 Avoid using cruise control in wet conditions
🚗 Slow down and increase your following distance
🛞 Check your tires and ensure they have proper tread
🚨 Make sure your headlights are on

Small adjustments behind the wheel can help prevent a serious emergency. Stay alert, slow down, and stay safe out there.

🚑💙 Our crews had a great time participating in EMS for Children at multiple locations throughout our communities!

From exploring ambulances to meeting EMS providers, these events help kids become more comfortable with emergency services while creating fun and positive experiences along the way.

Our Mosinee base, located at the CWA Airport, serves as a gathering location in the event of a mass casualty incident at the airport. Recently, our leadership team and crew members partnered with Mosinee Fire, Merrill Fire, Mosinee PD and CWA staff to conduct a full-scale mass casualty drill.

Training opportunities like these help keep our skills sharp for the situations we hope we never have to face. We are grateful for the strong partnerships we share with our regional agencies and value every opportunity to train together in service of our communities.

Our Mosinee base recently had a special visit from a great group of 7th graders from Trinity Merrill! 🚑🚁

The students got a firsthand look at our ambulances and backup helicopter while learning more about EMS and the important work our crews do every day. We always enjoy the opportunity to connect with students and share a behind-the-scenes look at emergency medical services.

🚑 EMS Week Spotlight: Interfacility Transport (IFT) 🚑

Our IFT teams help patients safely travel between hospitals when they require specialty care, advanced treatment, or a higher level of medical support.

With 14 locations serving communities across North Central Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, our crews spend countless hours on the road each day helping connect patients to the care they need. While most people see an ambulance heading down the road, they may not realize the critical care and coordination happening inside.

This EMS Week, we proudly recognize our IFT crews for the compassion, endurance, and exceptional care they provide every single day.

When time is critical and advanced care is needed quickly, our flight teams are ready to respond. Located in Woodruff and Mosinee, these highly skilled crews provide rapid response to scene calls and critical care transports between hospitals across the region.

Behind every flight mission is a dedicated team of pilots, nurses, paramedics, and mechanics working together to safely deliver lifesaving care to our communities flying thousands of feet in the air. Often times in challenging environments and unpredictable conditions, bringing advanced emergency and critical care directly to patients.
