Today Northcentral Technical College gave their employees the afternoon to volunteer at a place of their choosing. The Town of Wausau Fire Department was fortunate enough to have a group come and volunteer to wash our fire trucks. Thank you to FF/EMT Derrico for giving the group a ride in the truck after they were finished. Thank you to all who volunteered to make our trucks shine, inside and out. We are very appreciative of your kindness.

We've had lots of inquiries about wanting a shirt but can't walk the 5k. We are asking if you want a shirt to sign up for the 5k regardless, it will help us with ordering. Today we take a moment to grieve with our brothers and sisters in the fire service to mourn the loss of Firefighter Bryce Jungbluth of Eau Claire Fire Department.

The Town of Wausau Fire Department would like to extend our condolences to Bryce's family, friends, and the members of the Eau Claire Fire Department.

June Practice: Bailouts & Drags
You train for the moments you hope never come. Lastnight we worked through several types of drags used to remove a person from a dangerous area, along with window bailouts and victim removal through windows. Solid reps, solid teamwork.

Big day for the Town of Wausau Fire Department — our retired Engine 2 is officially on its way to Carterville, Missouri. This rig answered countless calls for our residents, and we’re excited to see it continue serving another community. Carterville is gaining a solid piece of apparatus, and we’re proud to see it roll on to its next chapter.

June 5, 2026 — Pull for Scouting Sporting Clays

Representatives from the Town of Wausau Volunteer Fire Department participated in the 2026 Pull for Scouting Sporting Clays event at the Wausau S***t and Trap Club as a HEROS Team, proudly sponsored by Elite Retirement.

We joined local sponsoring businesses along with three other HEROS teams from SAFER, Medivac, and the Merrill VFW. It was an awesome day supporting scouting, connecting with our community partners, and putting a few rounds downrange for a great cause.
