It feels to me that the last election brought about a lot of civic engagement and that more people have shown an interest in Wausau’s local politics, which by all measures is a good thing for everyone. Now that the smoke has cleared and some time has lapsed we can start to look at the voting records of our elected officials in a more rigorous way.

I’ll do my best to update the citizens of District 4 on where I feel we are being served well by our leadership and where I depart from local decisions in an effort to discuss these things as they unfurl.

As we slide into the last week of this election, I am STOKED to announce my official endorsement from the Working Families Party. Nora Rasman has been extremely supportive in her efforts and for hearing me out as I talk through the candidate experience.

The Eau Claire Dells have served as a place of connection and recreation with nature since I was a toddler. While it is no longer legal to do so now, many of us remember spending hot summer days jumping from the rocks into the white water pools all summer long.

This area is important in so many ways and an open-pit mine could have devastating outcomes on the ecosystem and connected waterways.

We need to be vigilant and ask the hard questions of companies that will use our lands to profit and take it far far away, without enough consideration for what they leave being.

Be informed. Be engaged. Be vigilant. Marathon County has enough concerns already, and Wausau’s water doesn’t need another contaminate to worry about.
