🏌️‍♂️🌊 What a day for the Dive Team Underwater Open! 🌊🏌️‍♀️

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out Saturday to enjoy some beautiful weather, have a little fun, and help support our Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team! 💙

We are incredibly grateful to the Waupaca Country Club for being such wonderful hosts, and to all of the community members who joined us, supported the event, bought raffle tickets, sponsored holes, and helped make the day such a success.

And a very special THANK YOU to the amazing local businesses that donated more than $6,500 in raffle prizes and supported us through hole sponsorships! Your generosity means so much to our team. 🙌

The Dive Team provides an important service to our community, and events like this help provide the equipment, training, and resources they need to be ready when called upon.

We are incredibly blessed to have a community that shows up and supports us in so many ways. Thank you for being part of our team! 💙🌊

⚠️ SCAM ALERT – PLEASE SHARE ⚠️

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue is warning residents about a viral property tax scam targeting senior homeowners.

Scammers are circulating an AI-generated video claiming Congress created a federal program that would allow seniors to freeze or reduce their property taxes. The video directs people to contact their county assessor and request a “Senior Homeowner Tax Review Request” or “IRS Form 1098-SR.”

This program and form do not exist.

The goal of the scam is to obtain personal information such as Social Security numbers, banking information, or payments for fake filing services.

Please remember:

* Do not provide personal or financial information through unsolicited calls, texts, emails, or online links.
* Be cautious of videos that appear to feature government officials. AI technology can now create very convincing fake videos and voices.
* If you have questions about your property taxes, contact your local municipality or county directly using a phone number you know is legitimate.

Please share this information, particularly with elderly family members, friends, and neighbors who may be targeted by this scam.

If you believe you have been victimized by a scam, contact law enforcement and consider reporting it to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection or the Federal Trade Commission.

🎉 20 YEARS OF SERVICE! 🎉

Twenty years ago, three Corrections Deputies began their careers with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office within just a few days of one another:

⭐ Sgt. Tony Amundson - September 4
⭐ Sgt. Matt Stotzheim - September 6
⭐ Sgt. Russ Bytell - September 8

They were among many Corrections Deputies who began their careers with the Sheriff’s Office around the time the new Waupaca County Jail opened its doors, becoming part of an important chapter in the history of our Corrections Division.

What started as three Corrections Deputies beginning their careers has become 20 years of dedicated service, commitment, and leadership. All three went on to earn promotions to the rank of Sergeant, taking on greater responsibility and continuing to serve the citizens and staff of Waupaca County.

Today, we celebrate Sgt. Tony Amundson and Sgt. Matt Stotzheim for reaching this incredible 20-year milestone, while also remembering and honoring Sgt. Russ Bytell, whose service and dedication will always be a part of the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office family.

A lasting legacy of service, dedication, and brotherhood. 💙

Congratulations and Thank You on 20 years of service, Tony and Matt.
