A great addition to the park!!

New Water Fountain Installed at Waukon City Park

The Waukon Park & Recreation Wellness Department recently applied for and received a grant to install a new water fountain at Waukon City Park. The fountain has been installed at the park entrance, replacing the previous water spigot.

This new addition features a drinking fountain, water bottle filling station, and a pet-friendly dog bowl, making it convenient for park visitors and their four-legged companions.

A special thank you to Delta Dental and the Rethink Your Drink Grant Program for helping make this valuable improvement possible. We appreciate their support in promoting healthy hydration and enhancing our community park for everyone to enjoy.

Residents: At 1PM we were informed by Republic Services that their driver was just getting to Waukon and therefore might not get all the trash picked up today. If your trash doesn’t get picked up, please leave it out as they said they would finish tomorrow morning if they don’t get done today.

We understand the public’s frustration. When we are notified that someone’s trash or recycling is missed, we notify Republic of the address and request a quick resolution. In some instances, they inform us they aren’t able to collect the totes until the next time they are in town to collect. In other instances, they may inform us it will be picked up and it is still missed.

Since we have been keeping track of when toters aren’t picked up, we want to make sure we get your address onto our list when trash or recycling is missed. Because of the high volume of calls, please email [email protected] or [email protected] instead of calling the city. This will help us record your property while also allowing us to make sure we are still available for other customers or city matters as they arise. In addition, we want to remind residents to call Republic directly to notify them of any deficiency in their service.

We will do our best to continue to update on Facebook if we have any information to share.
Thanks for your patience.
