💧 WATER IS BACK ON! 💧

We apologize for the delay today and we know it’s been an inconvenience for everyone, but the water service has been restored and pressure will be building back up throughout the evening.

We’d like to thank our PWA crew and the crew from Luckinbill for working so diligently in this extreme heat today to fix the issue and restore water service.

We’d also like to thank the citizens that brought out cold drinks for the crews working today! Your kindness did not go unnoticed!

Unfortunately, the water main repairs are still ongoing.

FORTUNATELY— we have wonderful people like Justin Webster and Ramona and Michael Voelzke in our town that brought our hard-working crews ice chests with cold drinks to help battle the heat! Thank you so much for your kindness and understanding in this situation! 💙

Again, we’ll update as soon as we know an estimated time of restoration for the water service in town!

‼️ ATTENTION! ‼️

There is a water main leak that our PWA crew is on right now trying to repair. Since it is a main line, they will be shutting the water off momentarily for an undetermined amount of time to make the repairs. As soon as the repairs are complete, they will restore water services and we will update at that time.

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉

We’re proud to announce that Town of Waukomis has been awarded a TSET Healthy Incentive Grant! This funding will be used to upgrade our Morris Acres community park with a new playground structure, providing more opportunities for healthy living in our community.

A huge thank you to TSET for supporting our efforts to create a healthier, more vibrant community!

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS — Waukomis Planning and Zonning Commission

The Town of Waukomis is seeking five residents to serve on our Planning Commission.
What it is: The Planning Commission helps guide how our town grows. Members review subdivisions and plats, hold public hearings on zoning requests, and help build the town's long-range plan. The commission also serves as the Town's Zoning Commission.
Who can serve:
✅ Must live inside the Waukomis town limits
✅ Willing to attend at least one meeting per month, if needed.
The details:
• Five members, three-year terms (they will be staggered so all five seats don't turn over at once)
• Volunteer position — members serve without pay
• Nominated by the Mayor, confirmed by the Board of Trustees at an open public meeting
If you care about how Waukomis grows over the next decade and can give a couple hours a month, if needed, we'd love to hear from you.

‼️ The water is back on! ‼️

The PWA department was able to make the repairs in under an hour, so everyone’s water should be back on. Per normal, there may be a little delay in water pressure coming back up after an outage, but the water is back on and running again.

‼️ ATTENTION! WATER OUTAGE! ‼️

There is a water leak in town that will require immediate repair and the water will need to be shut down for an undetermined amount of time to make the repairs. As soon as we know when the water will be back on, we will update. But be advised that the water in town will be turned off shortly while repairs are made.

The Town of Waukomis is currently hiring a full-time water operator. Job description includes but is not limited to: maintenance of water and sewer systems, reading meters, repairing service leaks, mowing/weed eating and pothole repair.

Applications can be picked up at City Hall, 121 S Main St, Monday-Thursday 8a-4p.

These are photos of vandalism at our town park taken this afternoon. Someone has painted on the concrete, smashed one of the gutter downspouts on the gazebo, and burned the picnic tables.

We’re asking anyone with information about the individuals responsible for this damage to please call Town Hall at 580-758-3242 and report it to the Waukomis Police Department.

We would also like to remind that the park is closed at dusk and anyone lingering at the park after dark is not permitted to be there.
