Happy to have had the chance to speak with lots of Merton, Hartland and Lisbon area people at the annual Merton Community Fire Department’s Pancake Breakfast.

As a former firefighter myself, organizations such as this have a special place in my heart. Great people who step up every day, every call, and do so selflessly to serve their residents.

Was a pleasure talking to the firefighters that make this agency great.

WAUKESHA COUNTY BEACHES OPEN FOR 2026 SEASON

Park System beaches offer swimming access, dog-friendly options and kayak rentals

(WAUKESHA, Wis.) – Waukesha County Parks invites residents and visitors to embrace the sand and sun, as all county park beaches opened for the 2026 season Friday, May 8.

All six park system beaches offer Swim at Your Own Risk hours (SAYOR) from sunrise to sunset daily through September 27, weather and water conditions permitting.

“We’re proud to offer spaces where people can cool off, spend time outdoors and make the most of summer in Waukesha County,” Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow said. “I invite everyone to get outside and enjoy everything our parks have to offer this season.”

The park system beaches offer a range of water access opportunities, including swimming areas, kayak rentals, and dog-friendly options. Dog swimming is allowed in designated dog swim areas at Fox Brook and Menomonee parks. At Minooka, Mukwonago, Muskego and Naga-Waukee parks, dogs are permitted in swim areas but must remain leashed when out of the water.

Beach locations include:

Fox Brook Park, 2925 N. Barker Road, Brookfield
Menomonee Park, W220 N7884 Townline Road, Menomonee Falls
Minooka Park, 1927 E. Sunset Drive, Waukesha
Mukwonago Park, S100 W31900 C.T.H. LO, Mukwonago
Muskego Park, S83 W20370 Janesville Road, Muskego
Naga-Waukee Park, 651 S.T.H 83, Hartland

Kayak rentals are also available through Surf Shack LLC at Fox Brook, Menomonee, Naga-Waukee and Fox River parks. Single and tandem kayaks offer visitors an opportunity to explore beyond the shoreline.

Congratulations to Eagle Scouts Ben Markgraf and Peter Koutroupolos on being selected for VFW Scout of the Year recognition!

Both young men represent the very best of leadership, service, academics, and character within our community, and their accomplishments reflect the values of both Scouting and the VFW.

Today I had the honor of touring the Waukesha County Communications Center in Waukesha.

These people are truly the unsung heroes in law-enforcement and our fire services. This building houses emergency management, information technology personnel, and most importantly, the men and women of the Dispatch center, who answer your calls for Service.

When the citizens of our county dial 911, these people are the bridge of emergency services and the arrival of our police and fire. They give instructions on how to save lives long before our brave paramedics arrive.

My very first job in law-enforcement was as a part-time dispatcher for Waukesha County back in college. It is a job that not many people recognize, because it is behind the scenes and rarely do we see these Heroes.

Thank you for the tour, thank you for all that you do, and your dedication to the citizens of Waukesha County. You are truly a special group of people.

Packed house tonight at the Merton Town Hall for the wake boat public hearing for all town lakes. Spirited stories, strong opinions, and a room wondering what the final ordinance will look like when the time comes.

Day one of my new two year term was spent with the Wisconsin Towns Association Waukesha County Unit!

This organization is comprised of town administrators, clerks, supervisors and a few of us County Board supervisors. They collaborate daily, but get together quarterly to learn together, plan together, and share expertise.

Tonight’s guests was Ashley Schnering, Special Agent State of Wisconsin Bureau of Enforcement Division of Alcohol Beverage.

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this great organization, and representing Waukesha County.

Thank you for being reelected to the Waukesha County Board of Supervisors yesterday.

For those living in Merton and Lisbon, I will dutifully continue to serve and help make our communities the best they can be.

Collaborating with Local governments and figuring out how the county can best serve our constituents and citizens is a priority.
Last night I had the pleasure of spending some celebratory time with fellow supervisors, and the past County Executive and State Assemblyman Dan Vrakas.

Potholes and paving time is right around the corner! Check out which projects the county will be working on this summer below! The county will also be crack-sealing 25 miles of county highways so be cautious while our workers do their jobs to preserve the roadways.
