With great sadness, we announce the passing of Deputy Steven Lyles after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Deputy Lyles faithfully served this department and our community since August 2005. Over the course of his career, he dedicated himself to public service in many capacities and was a valued member of several specialty units, including the DAAT Unit, Fi****ms Training Unit, Tactical Enforcement Unit, and Civil Disturbance Unit.

Throughout his years of service, Deputy Lyles was recognized for his professionalism, courage, and commitment to others. His honors included two Life Saving Awards, a Meritorious Service Citation, a Unit Award for the Civil Disturbance Unit, a Unit Award for the Fi****ms Training Unit, and numerous citizen thank-you letters reflecting the positive impact he made on so many.

Deputy Lyles’ service, dedication, and contributions to this department will not be forgotten. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Waukesha County Sheriff’s 17th Annual K-9 Unit Golf Outing at Broadlands Golf Club in North Prairie!

We’re grateful for the support of all participants, volunteers, donors, and sponsors who helped make this event a success. Proceeds from the outing will benefit the Waukesha County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, helping fund essential canines and equipment.

Since the unit was established in 1990, 27 canine teams have served Waukesha County. These highly trained teams are certified in illegal narcotics detection, criminal apprehension, tracking, building and area searches, and evidence recovery.

A special thank you to all of our event sponsors for your generous support!
