Strong communities are built through strong partnerships.

What started as a connection at last fall’s Waukesha County Community Health Partner Summit has grown into a meaningful collaboration between Waukesha County Health & Human Services and Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin.

Pictured are Elizabeth Aldred, Director of Waukesha County Health & Human Services (left), Sarah Anderson, Brand Partnership & Sponsorship Specialist with Versiti (middle), and Ben Jones, Health Officer/Public Health Manager for the Waukesha County Division of Public Health (right).

Together, we're working toward two important goals:

❤️ Helping ensure our community has a safe and reliable blood supply through blood donation.

📊 Gathering community input through the Waukesha County Community Health Survey to help shape local health priorities for years to come.

If you're donating blood with Versiti, consider taking a few minutes during your post-donation recovery time to complete the Community Health Survey. It's a simple way to continue giving back after your donation.

Partnerships like this demonstrate what can happen when organizations come together around a shared commitment to community health.

Donate blood. Share your voice. Help strengthen Waukesha County.

Mental Health Awareness Month may be coming to a close, but this work is just getting started in Waukesha County.

We are proud to share this short version of Not Alone, a video project focused on youth mental health and the real experiences of individuals, families, and professionals in our community. This project was created to help reduce stigma, encourage conversation, and remind families that they are not alone.

Watch the short video here, and then visit our YouTube page to view the full-length version of Not Alone.

The launch of this video, and the stories that will follow, is only the beginning. Mental health is a priority area in Waukesha County’s 2026–2028 strategic plan, and we will continue working with community partners to raise awareness, share resources, and support the health and well-being of youth and families across our community.

If you or someone you know needs support, help and resources are available. https://www.waukeshacounty.gov/health-and-human-services/

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want our community to know we’re just getting started. 💚

Waukesha County has identified mental health as a priority in our current strategic plan, and we’re excited about the work ahead. We know meaningful progress happens when communities come together, which is why we’re looking forward to partnering with organizations, stakeholders, and community members to address this important issue.

There are exciting things in the works, and we can’t wait to continue these conversations, strengthen partnerships, and build a healthier, more connected community together.

Stay tuned. More to come.
