ARCh Youth Team Do you want to make a difference? The Youth Team is an awesome place where you can do that! Come hang out with us and learn more!!

In the Youth Team, we go to schools and give presentations in grades K through 12 about ending bullying. We also educate the community on preventable causes of disability and hang out with teens with and without disabilities. Hanging out with the youth team is a really great time! 🎉 That’s a wrap on Color War and GAINS! 💚💙 Today was packed with special fitness, a song & dance showdown, an epic dance party, and certificate shoutouts to our amazing achievers for the positivity they brought all summer long 🌟 The staff took on an obstacle course (some better than others 😅), and we ended with our final Color War results — followed by pies to the face for our losing counselors 🥧👀 Pure chaos. Pure fun.

Huge THANK YOU to everyone who followed along day by day, voted, visited, volunteered, or donated to make this summer unforgettable. We couldn’t have done it without you 💛 Until next time, GAINS fam!

Day 4 of Color War was all about Mix & Match—and the fun definitely matched the energy! 🎨🧦 We kicked things off with refreshing berry pops, then jumped into some awesome games like disc golf, roll and seek, and the fan-favorite chicken toss! 🐔🏃‍♂️ A big shoutout to Martha for leading our Thursday yoga session and helping us stay physically and mentally strong 🧘‍♀️💪 After some free time and counselor choice activities, we kept the momentum going with more Minute to Win It games and wrapped up with a talk on making good choices, staying safe, and looking out for one another. 💭✅ We ended the day with a sponge relay for tons of team points—soaking up the fun AND the water! 💦🔵🟢

🚒 Day 3 of Color War was on fire 🔥—literally! We had an exciting visit from the fire department where we learned about fire safety, got to explore the fire truck and ambulance, and asked tons of questions 👨‍🚒🚑 After that, we kept the fun going with bubble games, a bubbly read-aloud, and tasty fruit & veggie kebabs for snack 🫐🍓🥕 Our Achievers got to make their own choices, and the tents brought the energy during Minute to Win It 🕐💪 We wrapped up with a chat about good vs bad choices—because at GAINS, we mix fun, learning, and life lessons every day! 💙💚

Day 2 of Color War was action-packed! 🚓📚 We kicked off with a read-aloud, then got a special visit from the Menomonee Falls Police Department, where Officer Scott talked to us— we even got to check out the inside of a police car! 👮‍♂️🚔 Before they arrived, we made our own cop cars and officer hats to get in the spirit. After lunch, we hit the beach one last time for a sandcastle challenge and even buried some of our counselors (all in the name of team points, of course!) 💥 Color War Day 1 was a blast! We kicked things off by meeting our tent groups, diving into icebreakers, and getting creative with tent decorating and banner-making for our teams. We read some fun books, did beach ball icebreakers, and hyped up the spirit with sidewalk art. 🎨☀️ The day heated up with challenges like a wild water balloon toss (which totally turned into a full-on water balloon fight 💦), a super close kickball game, and an epic staff race to wrap it all up. ✨Today we celebrated ADA Day, honoring the Americans with Disabilities Act and everything it does to make the world more accessible and inclusive. We talked about the accommodations we all benefit from and made fidgets, spinners, ocean bottles, and even some sweet desserts! Our sensory scavenger hunt and “Because of ADA” signs helped us reflect on how inclusion shapes our lives.

🎉 We broke open piñatas filled with puzzle pieces, decorated for our celebration, and ended the day with a dance party and an epic rocket blast-off to celebrate progress and possibility.

🌍✨Today at GAINS, we traveled across three continents in one day—Africa, Australia, and Antarctica! From painting vibrant dot art inspired by Aboriginal Australian culture to crafting adorable paper penguins, our creativity soared. 🐧🎨 We cooked up delicious risotto, played the African strategy game achi, and ended the day with a surprise dance party to traditional African beats! 💃🏾🪘 What a fun, cultural adventure!

Today at GAINS was a fun and festive celebration of the cultures of the Americas! 🇺🇸🇲🇽🌎 We started the day by making colorful paper piñatas, and paper flowers, and cooking up some delicious Mexican rice — blending creativity with culture. 🎨🌮

Then we took the fun outside with baseball, basketball, and a splash-filled water balloon fight! ⚾🏀Through food, games, and shared traditions, we explored how culture brings people together in meaningful and joyful ways.

It was a day full of learning, laughter, and connection!

Today, we explored the beauty of Asian culture—creating coin trees, blooming cherry blossoms, and potato pandas! We also enjoyed parachute games for physical activity. We read “Come Out and Play”, a story that reminds us how kids around the world connect through games, no matter where they’re from! 🌍🎲

A big thank you to the Waukesha Public library for helping us pick stories that spark curiosity and bring the world to our achievers in fun, joyful ways! 📚

Today we celebrate someone who has danced his way into all of our hearts—Paul Manto. 💙 A longtime attendee of GAINS, formerly Camp Pow Wow, Paul is known for his unforgettable dance moves, infectious smile, and deep love for music. 🎶His joy lit up every room and every stage!

Paul’s family joined us today to honor his beautiful legacy—a legacy rooted in rhythm, community, and pure heart. Their presence reminded us that GAINS isn’t just a program; it’s a family, held together by the memories and magic of people like Paul. 🕊️❤️
