At the beginning of 2020, I wanted to write and complete an application for a grant in order for The Caring Place to receive a new floor. On June 19, 2020 my initial application was submitted to Bader Philanthropies. Now, June 24, 2020 Bader Philanthropies, Inc. wanted to learn more about our project and just how much the updated floor would impact our community. September 9, 2020 was another milestone having a virtual on-site meeting with the program officer for her to learn more about our final submission. Fast forward to Friday, October 30, 2020 I received a call from my program officer and she had spectacular news that our Renovation Project was approved to be funded! Ecstatic was one of my first emotions for First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha, WI. January 4, 2021 was an important moment in time, because of Bader Philanthropies, The Caring Place was able to start the process for a new floor through Zurn's Floor Covering. A gracious thank you is just one way to express our sincerest gratitude to Bader Philanthropies.
These photographs demonstrate the before and after process of installing Luxury Vinyl Plank on top of the hardwood floor. The Caring Place and First Presbyterian Church will now be able to perform activities and concerts safely from this day forward. We use the Fellowship Hall for various activities such as bowling, crossword puzzle, giant Jenga, and art therapy to name a few. Now that the floor is complete we will see a significant change in not only our clients but the community from various events we host.
